INDIGO took to the stage as part of @nationalyouththeatre Story First 2025 festival. One of six plays chosen from over 100 submissions, it was a joy and an honour to see it come alive. Big thank you to Cherrelle and the team at NYT for all the support!

Set inside a car on the journey home from Mother’s Day, INDIGO weaves together the voices, tensions, humour, and silences found in our communities, exploring Black British womanhood, friendship, cultural identity, neurodivergence, and the weight of “home”

This play was built on shared truths and conversations that rarely make it to the stage. To have them spoken, heard, and received with such warmth is something I’ll carry forward🐥

it’s not often that you get the opportunity to see the words you have scribbled down at the back of long car rides come to life in such a beautiful way. thank you for all that came out, to my incredible actors and the amazing team at the National Youth Theatre that believed in the vision (more content to come!) by @rk.arkives
