The Royal Liver Building 360 Tours have been shortlisted by the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards for:
International Tourism Award
Small Visitor Attraction of the Year

After winning the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year in 2021, we have been dedicated to improving all we can here at Royal Liver Building 360.
We are constantly improving our tour content and sustainability practices, as well as updating the Visitor Centre at the start of this year to include our Interactive Video Wall!

It's great to see that all that hard work has been paying off, and a big thank you to Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards for seeing this. We also want to give a big thank you to all our staff who put in so much effort every day to deliver the best tour and experience that they can!

Huge well done to all the other finalists too, in these categories and the many others that showcase all the best spots and people that Liverpool has to offer. It's an honour to be named alongside you all!

🔤Royal Liver Building A-Z 🔤
To tell you all about the building and its surrounding areas from A to Z!

Can you believe we're already at T! And this is a good one, because it's T for the Three Graces. The iconic buildings that grace 😉 Liverpool's waterfront and skyline 🏙️

The first to be built was the Port of Liverpool Building (the right most building) between 1903 and 1907.
Then came the Royal Liver Building (left most building), of course built between 1908 and 1911.
And soon came along the Cunard building (the middle building), built between 1914 and 1917.

Surprisingly, none of these buildings were designed by the same despite being so cohesive with each other!
And the colloquial name of the Three Graces, most likely is derived from Zeus's daughters, The Charities. Named Aglaia, for splendour and beauty, Euphrosyne, for joy and good cheer and Thalia for festivity and bloom. Which name do you think suits which building!?

The iconic entrance being built!

This was reserved only for the Royal Liver Friendly Society, which is why it's slightly more grand than the other three entrances of the Royal Liver Building!
As the owners of the building, they wanted to make a statement 😍

Of course this side of the building is fully open to the public on weekdays and just on the other side of this picture is the entrance to the Royal Liver Building 360 Tours! And we're open to the public everyday 🥰

We get a lot of questions about our Liver Birds, Bella and Bertie!

One of the most popular is how on earth did they get ontop of the building??!!
And of course we say that they flew up there 😉

But seriously, it took a lot of men and a lot of bravery to make sure our Liver Birds made it safely to the top of the Royal Liver Building!
They had scaffolding on the very top of the dome where they then pulled the Liver birds up piece by piece! They then had to weld the bird together right where they stood, completely in the elements! 🤯

This is because our birds weigh 4 tonnes each so there was no way they were going all the way up there (300ft) in one piece!

Today would have been John Lennon's 86th Birthday!

Of course, John Lennon was one of the founders of The Beatles and for a lot of their success was considered one of the leaders of the band.

The duo of Lennon and McCartney was astronomical for songwriting as they wrote around 180 songs together, this started all the way back when they were 16 and 15 respectfully.
A few of their incredible songs credited together are;
I Saw Her Standing There, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, A Hard Day's Night and She Loves You.

Once The Beatles split up, Lennon famously tried his hand at a solo career, going on to write songs like Imagine, arguably one of his most famous songs that is still used for anti-war movements to this day.
