With so many shops preaching so many different brands, it can be very hard to choose which product and installer is right for you and your needs.  Every brand will advertise things like durability ratings, life expectancy ratings, some even advertise "lifetime" warranties for their coatings (ones that require a costly annual service, but that's a completely different conversation on its own), and while these are all valid concerns and things to keep in mind when shopping for the right place to bring your car, there are other things that may be more important to think about. For example, how important is a warranty and durability claim when your vehicle's surface isn't properly prepped, meaning the coating doesn't bond the way it should? How important is a durability claim when you aren't given the proper education and materials needed to properly maintain your ceramic coating? Pricing is a very important thing to take into consideration as well.  When shopping around for quotes, you may find some installers offering a much lower price and turnaround time than others.  While this sounds great at first, you need to ask yourself:  what exactly is "cheaper"? When you are told by someone that they will have your car in and out in a day, are you getting your money's worth?  Will your car be properly prepped, decontaminated, polished, coated and cured in 6-8 hours, while other installers will be expecting to spend several days on the job? I could go on and on about this all day, but I'll wrap this up with one final point.  When looking for a ceramic coating installer near you, you will find different installers with different certifications and accreditations.  Were these certifications achieved after days of proper hands-on training at a coating brand's facility, or were these certifications achieved after a few phone calls and a buy-in? If you knew the answers to all of those questions, your decision would be much easier to make.  Installers and products you can trust can be hard to find, but there are several in the Minneapolis metro. This BMW M4 Competition finished in Individual Nardo Grey recently stopped by for a stout protection package with Modesta ceramic coatings. This one came in with an existing PPF installation on the front end, but the remaining exposed paint had plenty of swirls and defects. A decontamination wash was in order, followed by a multi-step paint correction to make the finish look better than new. The body was coated with Modesta BC-X, our most popular body coating option, rated for up to 5 years. The white leather was treated to Modesta's two-part Leather Protection System to help prevent staining and fading. The glass was polished with cerium compound and coated with Modesta EGC, providing excellent visibility in inclement weather and easy cleaning. I've said since day one that the absolute best solution for protecting and maintaining jet black paint is as much Paint Protection Film (PPF) as your budget allows. A perfectly corrected and coated black finish can be ruined with one improper wipedown or wash. The owner of this 997 911 Turbo took this advice to heart. PPF was applied to the full front end, mirrors, doors, quarter panels and rear wing. The headlights, headlight sprayers, hood badge, tail lights and side scoops were removed prior to film installation, which allowed for hidden edges and removal of trapped dirt and debris to prevent contamination in the film. Every edge was wrapped and heat sealed to make the film as invisible and long lasting as possible. Massive transformation on this 1981 Pontiac Trans Am after a visit to RM Auto Spa. This car was resprayed in the early 2000s, and maintenance was not up to par in the mean time. A multi-step paint correction was performed top to bottom, eliminating the severe swirls and defects that plagued the finish. This gorgeous Shark Blue 992 Carrera T initially came to RM Auto Spa in April of 2025 to have Paint Protection Film (PPF) installed on the full front end. Over a year and plenty of miles later, we're happy to report that the film still looks incredible and is doing a great job of preventing rock chips and damage. This time around, we picked up where we left off. PPF was applied to every remaining exposed panel. As always, all edges were carefully wrapped or tucked to achieve an invisible finish. Another regular looking Lamborghini Urus transformed into a one-off eye catcher after spending some time at RM Auto Spa! This Urus came in wearing factory gloss black paint, along with matte black trim pieces. We carefully applied "AMG Matte Grey" colored PPF from Shell Shocked Wraps to the body, along with carbon PPF to the hood, rear wings, fender flares and rear diffuser. All necessary disassembly was done to avoid as many seams as possible, every edge was wrapped, and every corner was capped, meaning absolutely none of the original paint is showing. This 2017 Mustang GT350 recently stopped by for some much needed protection on its Ruby Red paint. This is a tri-stage paint finish with tinted clearcoat, which means it's very difficult and costly to respray properly if something gets damaged. To help mitigate that risk, we applied Paint Protection Film (PPF) to the full front end and rear spats, along with the roof and piano black trim. As always with our installs, all edges were wrapped to ensure an invisible install. This Chevelle is approaching the light at the end of the tunnel after a several-year long restomod. Prior to final assembly, it paid a visit to RM Auto Spa for some much needed refinement on the new paint. We ran through every inch of this car to remove leftover compound and overspray, along with a multi-step paint correction throughout the entire body to eliminate some leftover sanding scratches from the body shop and swirls from transport and handling. This 2005 Porsche 911 was only showing 20,000 miles on the odometer when it came in, however you couldn't tell by looking at it. Previous owners had done a poor job maintaining the finish, which is where RM Auto Spa stepped in. First order of business was a thorough decontamination wash, as the body and wheels were covered in embedded brake dust and road grime. Once all the surfaces were properly prepped, a multi step paint correction was performed throughout the whole car to eliminate every last swirl and defect. The highly anticipated Rivian R2 is finally here! This one is one of the first to land in Minnesota, and it came to RM Auto Spa immediately for some necessary protection. We applied Paint Protection Film (PPF) to the full front end, safeguarding the paint from inevitable rock chips and damage. Since these vehicles are so new, no pre-cut patterns exist for them, meaning every panel was bulk installed and hand cut. As always with our film installs, every edge was wrapped and heat sealed for longevity and an invisible finish. Following the film install, the exposed paint was treated to an enhancement polish to clear up some swirls from transport and a few sanding marks left behind by the factory, and all exterior surfaces were covered in Modesta BC-08, amplifying the gloss and ensuring this Rivian will be easy to clean for years to come. Genesis has really been making a name for themselves as a legitimate luxury brand, with design language and build quality that rivals Mercedes and BMW. The OEM paints coming from Genesis are excellent as well, case in point on this silver GV80. Giving a color as simple as silver so much depth and flake is not an easy task, and the owner of this GV80 agrees with that sentiment, which is why it came in for just about everything we offer at RM Auto Spa.
