We’ve reached the final stop in our Hall of Fame countdown. 🎉 The 1974–75 Randolph-Macon men’s basketball team put together one of the finest seasons in program history, winning both the Mason-Dixon Conference regular-season and tournament titles, reaching the NCAA Sweet 16 and earning nine weeks in the national top 10, including a No. 4 ranking.

From an 84–74 win over Georgetown to a 64–60 NCAA Tournament victory over defending national champion Morgan State, the season was filled with memorable moments. Fletcher Johnson scored 52 points against Catholic, and four players finished their careers with more than 1,000 points.

The legacy of this team has only grown with time. Nine members of the squad have already been inducted into the Randolph-Macon Hall of Fame, and more than 50 years later, the 1974–75 team remains a standard of excellence for Yellow Jacket basketball. by @rmchoops

The Hall of Fame countdown continues with a Yellow Jacket who made his mark on both ends of the court.

Pat Holland ’91 was a dominant presence during his three seasons at Randolph-Macon, finishing his career with 1,205 points and 174 blocked shots. He remains among the program’s all-time leaders in scoring average (17.0 ppg) and field goal percentage (62.2%).

Holland helped lead the Yellow Jackets to an incredible 72-13 record, back-to-back ODAC regular-season and tournament championships, an NCAA South Regional appearance and a Sweet 16 berth. R-MC was ranked as high as No. 5 nationally during his career.

His success continued well beyond Ashland, with Holland playing internationally in Argentina, Dubai and Australia. With the Ringwood Hawks, he averaged 31 points per game and finished second in MVP voting. by @rmchoops
