Somehow, I made it to 30

It’s been a really weird year and some change, for pretty much all of my adult existence I had always joked about how I’m going to have a stupid death or something weird was going to take me, and I always felt it was probably going to happen sooner than I imagined. It’s a really strange feeling making peace with my mortality when I wasn’t even aware I was facing it. I’ve always had a pretty firm grip on it, I’ve always had a “if it happens it happens” attitude which is what made the aftermath a lot easier to deal with, but I’ve never really confronted the fact I actually beat something I joked about happening for years.

It’s so insane how much shit changes within a two month span. Gaining the power of epilepsy, losing my ability to walk and write for a time, ending back up with who I’ve always known was meant for me, soon becoming an uncle and already having talks of starting a proper family of my own. I’ve never been an ungrateful person but it’s a lot to come to the realization of how awesome it is I was wrong about my end, at least when it was my time. I’m not great at expressing said gratitude and I’m even worse at finding the right words to fully convey how excited for life I get to be for what feels like the first time in a long time.

A lot of people I hadn’t spoken to since highschool reached out when everything happened to me and I don’t think I ever really messaged anyone back due to being in the hospital and just overall being terrible at keeping in touch with people I hadn’t had strong relationships with in the first place, let alone people who I’ve considered family my whole time knowing them, if you’re one of those people though just know yall did keep me alive when I was recovering. by @rmeaker1
