Not a lot of people know this, but I actually earned my degree in screenwriting. ✍️✨

Before I graduated from college, my screenwriting professor, Eric Edson, handed my final screenplay back to me with:

“120/120. Keep me posted on this one.”

I never forgot it.

Writing opened some of my first professional doors and led to various opportunities, but eventually acting became the bigger focus and I stepped away from it for a while.

After acting in The Promised Land, I made a decision: I was going to come back to writing and create more than I ever had before.

And I have.

This has been one of the most creatively fulfilling years of my life. I’ve written and developed more scripted material than I have in years, taken exciting meetings, reconnected with wonderful creatives, and watched new doors begin to open.

It doesn’t feel like starting over.

It feels like coming home.

There’s a lot cooking right now.

LIONSGATE. ✨ What a moment.

I really have had the time of my life. ❤️

Acting has been one of the greatest loves I’ve ever known. I’ve been working professionally in this industry for over 20 years, and it has been one incredible roller coaster. This truly stands to be one of the most meaningful breaks of my career, and I’m taking in every second of it.

I’m so proud to announce that Season 2 of The Promised Land has entered a global distribution partnership with Lionsgate!

I’m also thrilled to be returning in the role of Shamira.

Getting to be part of Season 2 in Morocco was an amazing experience and one I’ll never forget. I look forward to sharing more details about the series soon.

Congratulations to the entire team behind the show — my fellow castmates, our wonderful creatives and crew. I’m so grateful to be part of this special project and truly excited for what’s ahead. 🤍

Julia Roberts. ✨

She was one of the actresses who had the biggest impact on me early on and was one of my first major influences as an actor. I’m hoping to catch her on Broadway as she returns to the stage 20 years after her Broadway debut in 2006!

It’s funny thinking back — growing up, my best friend and I literally made a routine out of watching Erin Brockovich over and over again. I did the same with Stepmom and saw My Best Friend’s Wedding countless times. Pretty Woman, of course, was another important one for me, along with so many of Julia’s films I watched growing up. Her work was a big part of what made me fall in love with acting.

I’m also a huge fan of Paul Rudd, and there are so many wonderful people involved in this project.

So exciting to see. Good for Julia! 👏🎭 And I hope I get to work with you one day! ❤️

Flashback Friday to lunch in New York with my friend Sandy Marshall — a fantastic Broadway producer and fellow theater lover. 🎭

This was actually the first time we got to meet in person, and we had such a great time talking about the art. I love getting into conversations about theater — there’s something about being on a stage before a live audience that makes you feel incredibly alive.

Time flies — this was a few years ago, but feels like yesterday!

Flashback Friday to Plaza de España in Seville 🥹 Probably my favorite city I visited in Spain — and I went to several! 🇪🇸

Plaza de España is one of its most beautiful sights. It was built as a centerpiece for a major international exposition held in Seville in 1929, celebrating Spain’s cultural ties with countries throughout Latin America and beyond. The architecture, colorful tiled alcoves, bridges, and canal are absolutely breathtaking.

It was actually raining when I arrived, but somehow that made it even more beautiful. Andrea Bocelli was playing, and I wanted to share this with you because this is what I was listening to when I walked in. It was unbelievable — one of those travel moments you never forget. ✨

And be sure to catch the end for a little glimpse of the colorful buildings and neighborhood from the balcony of my hotel.

Monday Motivation ❤️

You’re not going to be everyone’s cup of tea ☕️✨ — and they don’t have to be yours.

Sometimes it’s for reasons you can’t even control. You may simply exist brightly, and that alone can be more than some people know how to handle.

And that’s okay.

Always remember: that is not your problem. You are still allowed to shine.

What I’ve come to learn in this life is that you have to follow that inner voice. Sometimes it’s loud. Sometimes it’s quiet. But when you really listen, it can be incredibly profound.

I like to think of it as the guiding voice.

One of the things that gives me peace on a daily basis, regardless of whatever obstacles may come my way, is continuing to listen to that intuition — and allowing it to lead me. These days, it feels more instinctual than ever.

I’m genuinely grateful for every day, and if there’s one thing I can say, it’s this:

Follow the voice.

We are all here for a temporary amount of time. Make the most of every moment. Keep shining. Keep trusting yourself. And follow the intuition that guides you toward the life that feels most true to you. ✨

I’ve been talking about Portugal with a friend who’s visiting, and it got me thinking about this trip. This was truly one of my favorite experiences in Lisbon — visiting Mercado da Ribeira, home to Time Out Market Lisboa.

Trying things I’d never tried before, like the inside of a sea urchin and all kinds of other things, was so much fun. Here’s a little sneak peek. 🇵🇹✨
