Oman’s Misfat al Abriyeen is truly a hidden gem & a must visit place in Oman.

I was on my way to Jabal Shams, Oman. And then this village stopped me in my tracks.

Misfat Al Abryeen — hidden deep in the Hajar Mountains of Oman. Less than 1,000 people. A falaj water system flowing for over 2,000 years. Mud-brick homes built into the mountain rock by the Al Abri tribe, stair-stepped alleyways, terracotta pots on weathered walls, bougainvillea climbing through the cracks.

Some houses still lived in. Some abandoned. All of them telling a story.

A rooftop cafe. Omani kahwa. The entire valley below you. Homestays inside 500-year-old homes.
I only had an hour in Misfat Al Abryeen, Oman. I wish I had two days.

honestly, I don’t know how a city fits this much beauty and history in 48 hours. Here’s everything I covered:

Things to do in Budapest | Day 2 as a solo traveller 🇭🇺

Two strangers treated me to lunch in the most beautiful café in the world, and the day only got better from there. If you’re planning a Budapest trip, save this for your itinerary.

📍 New York Café: Budapest’s most famous coffee house. Marble, frescoes, chandeliers and live music. Go for lunch, stay for the desserts.

📍 St. Stephen’s Basilica: The city’s largest church. The dome is 96 meters tall, the same height as Parliament, so neither church nor state looks down on the other.

📍 Shoes on the Danube Bank: Sixty pairs of iron shoes honouring Jewish victims of World War Two. Quiet, moving, and a must visit.

📍 Danube Promenade at golden hour: Boats cruising, locals at public tables, the whole city slowing down.

📍 Chain Bridge at night: Watch it light up and the city’s mood completely shift.

Hallstatt, Europe’s most beautiful and most photogenic village, and honestly, pictures still don’t do it justice. Did this as a day trip from Salzburg, took a boat across the crystal clear lake to reach it, and I’m convinced that’s the only way to truly see this place for the first time. Spent hours just wandering with no plan, and every single corner looked like a postcard. Here’s everything I covered in one day:

📍 Boat ride across Lake Hallstatt
📍 Evangelical Church, the iconic postcard spire
📍 Main square, cafes and restaurants
📍 Cafe Derbl, spaghetti and German cola
📍 Hallstatt waterfall
📍 Lakeside walk, paddle boats and swimmers
📍 Boutique and souvenir shops
📍 Maria am Berg (Catholic Parish Church) and the cemetery, best village view from up top

7,000 years of history, only 800 permanent residents, and almost a million visitors a year still can’t ruin how magical this place feels. Save this for your Austria itinerary, you’re going to need it.
