A little reintroduction to my page 🤍

The past year has been full of more changes in my life as I’m now back in the South of England. I’m determined that despite my concrete jungle surroundings, I’ll still make the most of the outdoors (whilst secretly pining for the mountains of the North - surely it’d be weird not to?!)

I work a full time pretty intense job and study part time too. Despite that, I want to make the most of every day. Working hard for an adventure filled retirement is not my bag! All we have is *now*.

So, if you’re into mini breaks and big adventures, trying to be sustainable whilst doing so, pushing yourself to try new things and just generally building a life you love!! You’re in the right place.

We will have a Blue Moon tonight!!

As this usually happens once every two or three years, it’s quite a rare experience. Blue Moons are usually associated with reflection, release and emotional clarity, so it felt like the perfect time to share some journal prompts 🌑✨

This is a good time of year to recognise what no longer fits & reflect on the months passed so far.

Let’s get ourselves ready for the shift.

8 Hours in Paris 🥐👭🏻🇫🇷

I must have upset the weather gods as every trip I’ve been on so far this year, it’s rained 😂

Here’s our very chilled itinerary:

- Arrive at Gare Du Nord from the Eurostar
- Jump on the metro to see the Eiffel Tower & take *lots* of pics!
- Head to the Arc de Triomphe monument - we didn’t get the chance to go up for the panoramic view but would have with more time
- Six stops on the metro to Palais-Royal Musée du Louvre
- Wander round the Palais-Royal before lunch at @cafesainthonore - if you have a sweet tooth you have to try the melting cookie 😍🤌🏼
- @museelouvre of course!
- Souvenir shopping because fridge magnets are my new collectible item
- Drinks at @caferucparis
- Taking in the views of the Tour Saint-Jacques whilst we were blessed with a bit of sun
- Head back to the Eurostar terminal for our train home

I believe that deep down we all know a lot more about what’s best for ourselves than we consciously accept or act on.

By making the conscious, unconscious, our lives continue and we’re forced to confront the same challenges over and over again. Some may call it bad luck, coincidence, even fate.

A few years ago, I realised I was spending a lot of time planning for work and very little time planning the things that actually made me happy.

This year I’ve been trying my absolute best to change that :)

If you’re feeling stuck in the cycle of work, eat, sleep, repeat, hopefully some of these ideas help.
