Another trip around the sun for this beautiful girl! Super cool experience on my morning walk today!!! I saw, what I thought was, a vulture standing on the side of the road and got a little closer to get a video of it taking off as I approached. As I got closer, and it didn’t take off, I realized that it was a hawk and that it was odd it hadn’t fled. Shortly after the video, it took off, flew low and landed in tall grass. I followed it and found it huddled down and making a frog like noise and realized it had to be injured. I immediately called Game Warden Brian Johnson from @californiadfw (yes I have his direct number and bother him often 😂😂 Sorry Brian) who was able to show up shortly and safely secure the injured raptor (slide 9) and get it to @wildcare_eastern_sierra The bird was already banded so it is a known bird. Upon writing this post, Brian text me to let me know that he got the raptor to @wildcare_eastern_sierra safely and that it is a juvenile red tailed hawk. Hopefully they are able to nurse it back to health and get it back into the wild soon. The more awareness and funds that we can get towards research and treatments the closer we can get to seeing a better way of life for @zairaranch and countless others suffering from MS and other dynamic disabilities. On this Autism Awareness Day I want to honor this special guy and all the joy and love he’s brought to my life! Alex is such a cool kid that just happens to think and feel differently from most of the world. The things I’ve learned from this young man have made me a better person and I am so grateful to have him in my life. The biggest thing I’ve learned is that being neurodivergent is not a disability but is an enhancement and brings new perspectives to this world that if we all took the time to realize and think about, we’d all have a little better understanding of the world and each other! Big shout out to @tailwaggersbishop for always taking care of Cassidy and me! They had everything I needed to de-skunk this girl, were able to get us in for a bath first thing this morning and even gave Cassidy a HOUSE MADE cookie for being such a good girl in the bath (like she always is). If you live in the Bishop/Mammoth area, or are passing through and need something for your fluffy, scaled or feathered loved one, I highly recommend seeing the great people at @tailwaggersbishop This is by far my favorite and the best pet store I’ve ever had the pleasure of patronizing. From niche products to house baked treats to a self bathing station, they have it all covered for you and your pets. The staff is the best part of the entire store, highly knowledgeable, super friendly and always willing to help and answer questions. We lost a great!! 💔💔 I knew about the Dead my whole life but when Jerry passed I was not even 13 and didn’t really “get it”. I got into The Grateful Dead’s music in my late teens/early twenties and started to enjoy it but I was truly introduced and indoctrinated into the Dead in my mid twenties thanks to my two adopted uncles, Spike and Bobbo (pictured in slide 4 going to a Dead show in SF). They were and are true Dead Heads, followed them around the country, had thousands of hours of concert recordings but more than anything, STORIES!! I was always told growing up that I was an old soul, and I agree. I always said I should have been born in ‘47 and I would have been in SF in ‘65. The Grateful Dead started in SF (Palo Alto) in ‘65!! When I was fully introduced to the Dead, their music, the culture, the family it all clicked that my statements were true. I may not have been able to be there at the time but through the power of music I was able to find those that were, those that should have been, those that still are 😂😵‍💫, but more importantly, helped me find myself and my place in this crazy world. I know how grately this band has had an affect and effect on my life, but just scrolling through IG today and seeing every third post or story is from an artist that I admire today stating how much Bobby and The Dead has influenced them and their career is what truly proves the power that he and they carried. One of my favorite Grateful Dead songs is one that Bobby wrote called “Cassidy”, the fifth slide shows my Steal Your Face tattoo and my dog Cassidy.

Bobby, may the four winds blow you safely home because it’s been a long strange trip! Jerry and you are finally reunited! 🙌🏼

12/15/25-One year sober from alcohol! I haven’t really touched on this in the past year but one year ago I had my last few beers and early in the morning of December 16th I took myself to the hospital due to intense stomach pain. Shortly after arriving, I was rushed to a room upstairs and immediately put on a morphine drip every two hours for the first three days because I was in such great pain. I spent ten days in the hospital. I was told that I have developed pancreatitis from 25 years of hard drinking and poor diet and was given doctors orders for a complete change of diet and lifestyle. No booze, beef, pork, dairy, white rice or pasta… I jokingly say that I didn’t quit drinking, I was forced into an early retirement 🤣🤣 but the truth is, if I didn’t quit I would have died relatively soon with the amount that I was drinking. The last year has had its ups and downs but overall has been very rewarding. My diet is pretty plain and “boring” but luckily I can cook so I’ve been able to mix it up and keep it interesting. I haven’t really changed much, still the same dude. If you wanna hit me up to go out for a beer at a bar or the local brewery, no worries! There’s a lot of really great N/A options out there and I’m not the righteous sober type, so don’t think that because we used to drink together we can’t still kick it!🍻

I’d like to thank everyone who has given me support, love and encouragement along the way but even more to my biggest fan, most loving supporter, best friend and the biggest reason for STAYING sober, @craiglous ❤️ Without Jenny’s constant support, always being there for me through the highs and lows, never ending words of encouragement and overall love that only a bestfriend can provide, none of this would have been possible or even worth it! Thank you ❤️❤️🫶🏼

Absolutely heartbroken! 💔💔 Got the news last night that a really great guy I was lucky enough to call my friend has passed away tragically. When I first met @curranski and @flowermom821 at the bar I was running in Oceanside, they were on vacation from Minnesota. They fell in love with Oside and especially the bar I worked at and I think a little bit with me too. 🤗 They soon became regulars, despite living across the country! Soon after meeting them they moved to Arizona (I think to be closer to Oside 😉) and became even more regular regulars! Devin, Anna and their son @jamie_.curran would come visit often and we would get together outside of work. Devin was a punk rock skateboarder through and through and we connected immediately on so many levels. The stoke level of this man was unsurpassed by any other human I’ve ever had the pleasure to be around. He loved life! He loved skating and music, skiing, biking, hiking, kayaking and just generally being outdoors. What he loved more than these things was doing them with the people he loved, and he loved everybody! Whether you just met him at the skatepark or known him for years, Devin just wanted to raise your stoke level as high as his! He loved to film and photograph, everything, he had an eye for beauty, whether in a flower or a sunset or a skater ripping a bowl at a skatepark. Devin was just an overall wonderful human being that I am grateful to have entered my life and he will be greatly missed, not just by myself, but to every life he ever touched. My condolences go out to his wife @flowermom821 his son @jamie_.curran and his daughter Sophie. by @roamingviking_22

I am so over the moon IN LOVE with this beautiful ring I recently received from @oceansidesilverco This Old Stock Mexican Fire Agate is so gorgeous and just shimmers in the sunlight! The sterling silver setting is just as pretty and shines as bright as the stone itself. I’m not the biggest jewelry person but when I saw this piece I knew I had to have it! I’m SUPER thankful for @subie_shop for getting me and Cassidy back on the road and being able to go all the places and do all the things we love the most! I cannot give these guys enough praise! Charlene and Jose took care of me, once again. I needed an entire engine swap and they were able to get me in, out, back home and happy in a week AND before the holiday. I lost my Paw Paw yesterday 😢💔💔💔 He was the one that instilled my love of nature at a very early age. Paw Paw would always take me and my cousins hiking and on outdoor adventures any chance he got. My first overnight backpacking trip was to summit Matterhorn Peak at only 8 years old. Although we weren’t able to summit the peak because of my tiny little lungs and my brother’s popping ears above 12k feet 😂 I knew then that there was no better feeling than being in the woods and sleeping under the stars after a long day of hiking! I’ve spent many nights under the stars and covered hundreds of miles in the backcountry, both with and without him, and will continue to, always in his memory and honor. Paw Paw always said the cure to anything was to go out and run or hike 6 miles, well today I was sad so I went out and hiked to Green Lake. This is one of the first hikes I remember doing with him and he was right, the fall colors and beauty of the day along with wonderful memories of him made me very happy!
