Dive into the heartwarming world of Gentoo Penguins. Witnessing the adorable bond between a hen and her fluffy chick on a protected island near Ushuaia, Argentina. This journey into wildlife photography and videography began just over a year ago, and it’s been an incredible evolution. Recently, as I started exploring the world of video with my @sonyalpha camera, I hit a small snag on this adventure – forgot my tripod! Trying to capture the pure beauty of these penguins turned out a bit shaky without the stabilizing support of a tripod. But you know what? Imperfections often add authenticity to the story. After all, we can’t learn and grow without mistakes. Join me in embracing the journey, shaky shots and all!

📍Aman Sveti Stefan

Originally a fortified fishing village built by the Paštrovići in the 15th century, Sveti Stefan was created as a refuge from pirates and grew into a small island community of stone homes and churches.

Its strategic position along the Adriatic also made it important during the Venetian period.

In the 1960s, the historic village was transformed into a unique island hotel, preserving the original stone buildings and medieval character that still define Sveti Stefan today.

📍Old Parish Church of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin

High above Prčanj, this old church has watched over the Bay of Kotor for centuries.

First recorded in 1399, the church was rebuilt and expanded over the centuries, including the distinctive octagonal chapel and dome added in the 18th century.

For generations, it served as Prčanj’s main parish church and became an important place of pilgrimage. The surrounding cemetery was also the final resting place of many of the town’s sea captains, shipowners, and priests.

After the new parish church was built closer to the waterfront, the old church gradually lost its role. Then, the devastating 1979 earthquake left much of the structure in ruins.

Today, its remaining walls, dome, cemetery, and position high above the bay offer a glimpse into Prčanj’s centuries of maritime and religious history.

Sunrise at Schwabacher Landing in Grand Teton National Park pure magic.

There are moments in life where everything just feels perfect. Standing in one of my favorite places, watching a beautiful sunrise over the Tetons and sharing it with people who bring so much joy into my life was one of those moments.

Time in Jackson, Wyoming and Grand Teton National Park with people who feel like family. The Tetons have always held a special place in my heart. After visiting year after year, this place played a huge role in making me fall in love with the idea of living a nomadic life. There’s something about being here that feels healing to me. It’s where I come to slow down, reflect and reconnect with myself. No matter what I’m carrying when I arrive, I always leave feeling lighter and happier.

This weekend was one I really needed. It’s been a hard year with a lot of heavy moments and I came into it feeling pretty low. Being surrounded by these people, who bring so much joy, support and good energy into the world shifted something in me. Between the conversations, the mountain hikes, the laughs, and the chaos of a fun night out. I left feeling more like myself again and in a much better headspace.

Grateful for places that heal you and even more grateful for friends who remind you who you are when life gets heavy. Surround yourself with people who lift you up, show up for you and make life feel a little lighter.

Meet Kanyonyi, the lead silverback of the Mubare gorilla family in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Mubare is the oldest habituated gorilla family in the park, with human habituation dating back to 1993. Every gorilla in this family has grown up accustomed to researchers and trekkers and Kanyonyi is known as the only silverback in the park that will allow you to make direct eye contact while remaining calm.

People throw around the phrase “once-in-a-lifetime experience.” This is truly one of them.

There are only three places in the world where you can trek to see mountain gorillas — Uganda, Rwanda, and Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Our group hiked for two and a half hours before finding the Mubare family. We bushwhacked down a steep dense jungle to reach them and were fortunate to spend our full hour with Kanyonyi. Other members of the family appeared briefly but would quickly disappear back into the jungle.

Kanyonyi gave us so much in that hour. His personality was fully on display. Having been around humans his entire life, he was calm and unbothered by our presence. This allowed us to witness his role as protector and leader in real time. We watched him sit alone in quiet dominance, communicate with family members who would disappear into the forest after their interactions, and even build a bed and “hide” from us for part of our visit.

Easily the hardest animal I’ve ever photographed. The jungle is impossibly dense and gorillas move fast but every second was worth it.

If you ever have the opportunity to do this, go.
Without question, one of the most powerful experiences of my life and I already know I’ll be back.
