•Painted Bunting•It had been raining all weekend so I initially was gonna sleep in yesterday but then I saw a Guadalupe state park Facebook group post about how painted buntings had been spotted in the area in recent days, so I decided to get up & try my luck.. It started off as a slow morning but then I saw something red peep its head out of the brush. Being that cardinals are abundant in the area I didn’t think much of it.. but I just had a funny feeling so I decided to zoom in on it to check it out.Image No.1 is the first painted bunting I’ve ever seen & captured! I think these lil dudes easily have climbed up to my favorite bird spot. Enjoy! #photography #birds #wildlife #nikon #photooftheday by @roamwithnoe

•Painted Bunting• It almost seems like someone’s kid got into the paint jars & painted these when the creator put them together. Their spectacular looks were once detrimental to the species.The male painted bunting was once a very popular caged bird, primarily due to its cheery song & vibrant plumage. Thanks to conservation acts its capture and holding became illegal when the Migratory Bird Treaty Act was signed in 1918.Lets let the wild remain wild y’all 👐🏽#photooftheday #wildlife #birds #nikon #photography by @roamwithnoe

•Blue Grosbeak•“The blue grosbeak is a medium-sized North American passerine bird in the cardinal family Cardinalidae. It is mainly migratory, wintering in Central America and breeding in northern Mexico and the southern United States.”I really need to start going through my archives more.. •Diamondback Water Snake• 🐍“Nerodia rhombifer, commonly known as the diamondback water snake, is a species of nonvenomous natricine colubrid endemic to the central United States and northern Mexico.” I would’ve liked to get different angles of this guy, but he was simply unbothered & breaking his comfortability was never an option. He didn’t move an inch the entire time we watched him. In an otherwise pretty uneventful outing, this guy ended up being the lone, but pretty damn cool highlight of my morning #photooftheday #wildlife #wildlifephotography #snake #photography by @roamwithnoe
