I was lucky enough to see the Amorphophallus titanum (corpse flower) in bloom while traveling through Sumatra. It only flowers for a short time, sometimes just 24–48 hours and can take years between when it blooms again. It is one of the world’s largest and rarest blooms… and one of the smelliest.

I feel so fortunate to have experienced this place! It is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. The little beach huts on this private island!
