11 MONTHS OF CLINICAL NEGLECT: HARDWARE EXTRUDING, BLOCKED REFERRALS & UNSAFE DISCHARGE

Unfortunately they cannot completely remove the broken tibia screw in my leg without completely butchering it.

After surviving a severe B-double semi-truck collision on 24/8/25 following a workplace accident, I have endured 11 months of systemic, administrative, and clinical failures within the hospital system.

I have been forced to live in hammocks, motels, Ive been forced to teach myself how to walk, I lost my beautiful dog to my mother, multiple careers, Ive lost my family, my friends, I moved citys 3 times and reside in a homeless shelter disabled.

The reality of what has taken place:
🔴 Severe Surgical Neglect: Orthopaedic hardware has spent months working its way out of my body and has now fully extruded through my skin after months of delayed surgical intervention.
🔴 Blocked & Delayed Referrals: An approved urgent referral to Brisbane was withheld and delayed for 2 months, forcing me and my GPs to independently trace and chase it up.
🔴 Unsafe Discharge to Homelessness: Discharged in a wheelchair following major abdominal surgery with no OT assessment, no physio, no support services, and false notes claiming discharge to a "usual residence"—leaving me homeless and having to teach myself to walk again from shelters.
🔴 Intimidation & Falsified Files: Crucial requests for specialist care were documented as "refusal of treatment," while formal escalations via Ryan’s Rule, the Office of the Health Ombudsman (OHO), the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC), and local MPs have been met with zero accountability.

I have meticulously documented and recorded this entire journey to ensure the truth cannot be erased. I am currently in Brisbane pushing for urgent surgical resolution, but systemic failures at this level cannot be swept under the rug.

$What’s that piece of metal sticking out of that elbow?! Well, it’s the edge of a metal plate used to treat olecranon fractures. The olecranon is that prominent bony bump that you have in the back of your elbow. . Because the bone is so close to the skin, you can often feel one of these plates through the skin. Unfortunately that means that if you have wound problems, the plate and screws are often exposed to the outside environment and get infected! . The original video was posted by @roaringrors , wishing him a speedy recovery, and I’m sorry they are going through so much. . . . #medicaleducation #orthopaedics #bonefracture by @roaringrors$

$STITCHED UP 2 years A 9 Inch grinder workplace accident, a collision with a B-double semi-truck, and an 12 month battle against institutional neglect at cairns base hospital Australia Surviving the impact was only the first fight. Waking up to major abdominal surgery, broken bones, and a wheelchair was one thing; being discharged to the street with no support, no care plan, and surgical steel left inside my body was another. For months, I was forced to survive through motels, hammocks, and homeless shelters while hardware, screws, a fractured tibia bolt, and a 20mm plate, literally began extruding through my skin. Instead of accountability or urgent surgery, I was met with silence, delayed referrals, altered medical files, and hospital liaison staff telling me to go live in a tent. I lost my career, my home, my stability, and my dog. I was pushed to the absolute brink and pressured to delete the evidence. Share this post to demand accountability for patient safety and medical integrity. I documented every single conversation, kept every record, and taught myself how to walk again. Managing complex legal battles and fighting for specialist care in Brisbane from the floor of a shelter isn't a life anyone should have to endure. The systemic failures run deep, but the receipts run deeper. I am still standing, although I still have a lot of unanswered questions, To every single person who has reached out, supported me, and reminded me I’m not alone in this fight, thank you Severe Surgical Neglect: Orthopaedic hardware has spent months working its way out of my body and has now fully extruded through my skin after months of delayed surgical intervention. Qld
DONT LISTEN TO HOSPITAL STAFF
In Queensland, it is generally legal to audio record a private meeting or consultation in a hospital if you are an active participant in the conversation, according to the Invasion of Privacy Act 1971. You do not legally need the other person's consent to record your own interaction, though strict rules apply to sharing or publishing the audio.

I was basically forced to sign this paper in RBWH , I'm not interested in going through it all again I did what I had to do to cairns get to the right place to get basic care,

this is because my story involves 12 months of recording throughout my healthcare in Cairns, Innisfail and Tully. I did not feel safe.

Note: I'm not saying Brisbane has done anything wrong, the care has been amazing, it's made me realise how a hospital is supposed to operate, there efficient and the process has been fantastic. by @roaringrors
