Just a girl with too many books & not enough hours.
Honest book gabs, TBR recs, & probably some strong opinions
- your bookish bestie 🤍
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Hi, I’m Roavly 🤍

I’m the friend who finishes a book and immediately needs someone to talk about it with. The one who will absolutely add something to my TBR because you said “trust me,” and will probably return the favor.

Expect honest reviews, overhyped-or-worth-it debates, books I can’t stop thinking about, and the occasional questionable fictional-man obsession.

I read a lot of romantasy and contemporary fiction, but really, if it’s good, I’m in.

Basically, I’m here to find my book people. So if your TBR is already out of control, you’re in good company.

Okay, Emma M. Lion readers. YOU WERE RIGHT.

Volume 2. Volume 2 is when the obsession begins.

I liked Volume 1, but I wasn’t quite understanding the hype yet. Well, apparently I just needed a little more Emma in my life.

Because I LOVE this girl.

She’s witty, a little snarky, and undeniably cool. Reading her journals is giving me the same feeling as watching my favorite reality TV star, except it’s London in the 1800s and I’m getting all the commentary straight from her diary. LOL.

The observations. The personalities. The little bits of drama. I’m invested in absolutely all of it.

And now I understand why everyone keeps talking about this series.

Emma M. Lion besties, I need to know: does it somehow get EVEN better from here? Because obviously I’m continuing. 🤍 by @roavlyreads

Okay, Emma M. Lion readers, we need to discuss.

I’ve heard SO many good things about this series, and after finishing Volume 1, I have a question… does the obsession come later? Because I liked it, but I’m not quite at the completely-addicted stage yet.

First of all, Emma herself? Love her. Her commentary on absolutely everything, her appreciation for books, and the way she tells her story through her journal. She’s definitely someone I’d want to be friends with.

And I love the concept of getting to know her through her own words as she navigates life back in London, her inheritance, and the rather interesting people around her.

I’m intrigued. I’m entertained. And apparently intrigued enough that I’ve already started Volume 2. Obviously, I need to see where this goes. I’m just waiting for that moment when I absolutely cannot put the series down.

So, Emma M. Lion besties, I need to know: which volume made you fall completely in love with this series?

Make your case. No spoilers, please! 🤍 by @roavlyreads

Officially finished Threshing Day and apparently I have a newfound love for Garrick Tavis?! ❤️

Okay, we need to discuss. Because while Sloane’s story was hands down my favorite, Garrick was the unexpected MVP of this entire book.

“I’ve loved her since she punched me in the face at nine years old.”

SIR. EXCUSE ME?! 😭

I absolutely loved getting to dive deeper into the stories of characters we’ve known throughout the series. There’s something so good about seeing a different side of characters you already love, and now I’m even more invested.

And obviously, I am SO ready for book four. @rebeccayarros we’re waiting! 😆

But I need to know… was Garrick the MVP of Threshing Day for you too, or did someone else steal the show? Make your case. 👀

Does anyone else save their most anticipated reads for a “special occasion”? Please tell me I’m not the only one! 😂

Like, what exactly are we waiting for?!

I need to know… what book are you saving for when the vibes are just right? 📚

Bookish confession: I don’t actually want my TBR to get smaller.

Do I complain about my TBR? Yes.

Do I continue buying books like I don’t already have an entire library waiting for me?

Obviously.

Do I experience genuine happiness every time I add another book to the pile?

Also yes.

At this point, I’m starting to think my TBR isn’t a problem to solve. It’s an emotional support system.

And quite frankly, I think we’re doing great.

Now I need to know… what’s ONE book on your TBR that you keep telling yourself you’re going to read “soon”?

You know the one. It’s been patiently waiting while you’ve read 12 other books.

Mine might be A Court of Thorns and Roses. Please don’t judge me. 🤍 by @roavlyreads

Okay, we need to discuss Onyx Storm.

Because WHAT. WAS. THAT. ENDING?!

I genuinely enjoyed this book, but did anyone else feel like it was completely different from Fourth Wing and Iron Flame?

I can’t quite put my finger on it, but the whole experience felt different. Not necessarily in a bad way, just different.

And then Rebecca Yarros had the audacity to end it like THAT?!

Ma’am. I have questions. Several, actually.

Obviously, I’m still thinking about it.

Now that I’ve finished all three books, I need to know where everyone stands.

Did Onyx Storm live up to the first two for you?

And PLEASE tell me I’m not the only one who finished that ending and just sat there processing.

No spoilers in the comments for our book besties who haven’t finished! 🤍 by @roavlyreads

Apparently I have a reading system.

Did I intentionally create this system? Obviously not. But here we are.

📖 Physical book: my daytime read.
📱 Kindle: my in-bed read because turning on an actual light at night feels unnecessarily aggressive.
🎧 Audiobook: driving, errands, multitasking… basically any situation where holding a book would be frowned upon.

And somehow my brain has decided these are three completely separate reading categories, so yes, I can absolutely be reading three books at once and no, I will not be taking questions about the logic behind that.

Actually, that’s a lie. I need to know how everyone else does this.

Are you a loyal, one-book-at-a-time reader? Or do you also have a book for every possible reading situation?

Make your case. I need to know which side is normal here. 👀 by @roavlyreads

Okay, current reading check-in.

I’m officially on Threshing Day because apparently three Empyrean books were not enough for me.

Obviously not.

I finished Onyx Storm and I have thoughts. We’ll be discussing those soon. 👀 But for now, I’m not quite ready to leave this world, so Threshing Day it is.

Meanwhile, Wild Reverence is living on my Kindle because I am apparently incapable of reading just one book at a time.

I need to know: are you a one-book-at-a-time person, or do you also have different books going in different formats?

And if you’ve read Threshing Day already, no spoilers, but which story was your favorite? Make your case. by @roavlyreads

Okay, Iron Flame… you stressed me out.

Fourth Wing had me kicking my feet. Iron Flame had me questioning everyone’s decision-making skills. 😂

There was SO much happening in this book. Bigger stakes, more politics, more dragons, more secrets—and apparently absolutely no interest in giving me a moment of peace.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really liked it, but Fourth Wing still wins for me. There was something about the first book that completely pulled me into this world, and Iron Flame didn’t quite recreate that same feeling.

Did that stop me from immediately continuing the series? Obviously not.

I’ve already finished Onyx Storm and I’m currently reading Threshing Day, so at this point Basgiath and I are in a committed relationship.

But I need to know where everyone else stands:

Fourth Wing or Iron Flame?

And if you’re choosing Iron Flame, make your case. I want to hear it. 👀 by @roavlyreads

Apparently Fourth Wing didn’t just take over my reading life. It took over my Kindle too.

I fear the Basgiath enrollment is permanent.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who changes their entire Kindle personality after becoming obsessed with a series.

What book or series currently has a chokehold on your Kindle? 👀 by @roavlyreads

Rebecca Ross readers, I need to know how you did this.

I read Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows first, and now I’m reading Wild Reverence. But naturally, I’m wondering if I should have read this one first.

Did you read it before the duology, after, or completely on its own? And if you could do it again, would you keep the same order?

No spoilers, please. I’m still reading this one. 🤍 by @roavlyreads
