Thanks everyone for all the love for “Freak Night.” The response online has been amazing!
I wrote and directed this with @Starcadian and it was a labor of puppet/VFX/monster makeup love for everyone involved. We wanted to make a movie that we would have loved as kids and I think we did it! Over the next few days I’ll be sharing more images and giving shoutouts to the talented cast and crew on Instagram. We could not have done it without them!

Today is the day! FORGOTTEN ISLAND! Years of ingenuity, creative passion, and hard work by hundreds of artists and technicians to bring an ORIGINAL, in-house developed, animated feature film to life. It is GORGEOUS, FUNNY, WILD, and most importantly DAMN good. Every film is a miracle. This one is a little more than that. Congrats to the crew at @dreamworks - I’m proud of us!

Still processing this past weekend at @neotropolisevent It was an amazing time with incredibly creative and talented people.

On Friday at midnight they held a beautiful tribute for @starcadian and I can’t not begin to express the love and support that the inhabitants of Kepler-609c shared for George’s music, the videos, and the person who had headlined there just 2 years ago. I barely took any photos as I spent most of the tribute handing out Starcadian Forever pins, talking with people, and (unsuccessfully) trying to keep it together so just sharing a few snaps here. I have footage that I’ll be sifting through.

MASSIVE shout out to @realjaredbutler and the @neotropolisevent team for holding the tribute and making it so meaningful for everyone there. Jared is a wizard!

Mega-thanks to @julesneonfawkes & @thestateofsynth @eclectotron @streetcleanerofficial @nightridermusic @starfarer and @droidbishop @rezodronemusic and others for the heartfelt conversations. Interstellar thanks to all the fans I met who shared a kind word or memory. I will be passing them on to his family and friends.

Hey, friends. Things are crazy. I hope everyone is looking forward to a chill Thanksgiving. Hug your people. Also, who’s excited about the return of this iconic series? I mean Stranger Things is all well and good but I’m talking about the Joe Dante-guided early-90s series EERIE, INDIANA. Is it coming back? Probably not but I always love a good mashup.

As we all still continue to process the loss of @starcadian the community of family, friends, and fans around his music has been a source of light and support. As a way to thank and acknowledge all who knew him or love his music we made these “Starcadian Forever” pins as a symbol of the community that has sprung up around his memory. These will never be sold. We’ve been sending them to folks and it’s a pretty special moment when I can give them to someone in person. Thanks to close friends on the StarcadianDiscord we’ve been getting them to fans and thanks to George’s family they’ve made it to Greece for his family and friends there. Starcadian. The world, the galaxy, whatever construct we all live in, lost a musical force of nature, a visionary creative, a true storyteller in every medium, a friend. This is all so hard to put into words but he’s gone. We are devastated. All of us. He was a creative partner, a collaborator: HE^RT, Chinatown, Freak Night, and we left much unfinished. Maybe some of those things will get finished. They are too good but it’s hard to imagine. I don’t get very personal on social media but if you knew him or met him you knew that behind the mask was a funny, smart dude, with the biggest heart. He was also family and the adoptive “Uncle George” to my kids.

Our heart goes out to Tehmina, to his family, his friends, and all the fans who knew what was good. Because he was the best. There is more to say about George but, for now, Starcadian rejoins the galaxy.

Play some of his tracks, watch the videos, dream of what could have been.

Happy to have ASTROCHIMPS, a feature comedy co-written by @ditty1013 and myself, on this year’s #OriginalsBureau2024 among so many great scripts!
