About This Project:

My new video project, "Trinity of Temptation," is a triptych that frames the social media feed as a machine built to tempt us. It explores how the endless scroll preys on our most human impulses, pushing us toward three classic sins. We are tempted by Greed (the insatiable desire for more—more content, more luxury products, more experiences), Sloth (the choice to "numb out" and escape our duties with mindless entertainment), and Gluttony (the mindless, endless overconsumption of digital "food porn"). This project is a look at the spiritual cost of our most common modern habit.

Did you know?
The average adult in their 40s spends over 2 hours on social media every day. My project focuses on how much of that time is truly intentional, and how much is a compulsive cycle of 'doom scrolling' and FOMO?"

Question:
Is our Temptation to want more, disconnect and over-consume really an issue? Is it inherently "bad"? When does Temptation become toxic? And...Why is the choice binary?

Dear world, in the event you forget, I am a photographer. I see you differently and deeply, experience you fully and respect all you have become. Should I not remember, let me recall: I am a photographer. by @robbarcia

Selection is just as important as documentation. When you have half a dozen photos that look nearly identical, the crucial step is making the choice to eliminate the others. Choosing one photo can feel like death, where your children are in front of you and you're asked to make a choice. This process is very painful for me sometimes, but it's a crucial step to shaping a narrative that tells a story in a compelling way. So, take a look at these photos, make a decision for yourselves about which stays, which goes, and in the end, ultimately, if you keep them all, that's okay too. by @robbarcia
