F🤟🏽uck the gym! Do the sports you love.

This summer I reconnected with a sport I’ve always loved: climbing. And this time, I understood why I love it…

There’s this moment, when you’re up on the wall trying to clip your rope into the next carabiner, where the whole world stops: you’re balancing your body with just your thumb and index finger, holding your weight on the tips of your toes, and you know that if something goes wrong—you’re flying. You’re falling badddd..

I’m telling you, in that moment the whole world disappears. It’s just you and that damn carabiner. The email you didn’t reply to, the quote you forgot to send, that stupid fight that was bugging you… all of it vanishes. You’re completely present.

I feel the same when I go surfing: you have to stay proactive, check the waves, watch the set, dodge that sneaky surfer trying to snake you, get to the peak, catch the wave, ENJOY IT, paddle back, repeat. It’s therapeutic because it demands your 100%—physically and mentally.

The gym was always just training to perform better at the sports I love, but at some point it stopped being a means and became an end in itself. For me, counting sets of bench press never put my brain in that state… and if it does for you, congrats! But if you’re bored AF counting to 10 over and over, here’s a kind reminder: go back to the sports you actually love.

6 months Indo (Lombok editie)

And then I found Lombok. Everything got a little bit slower, deeper, just more real. In Lombok, I could slow down time every single day and ask myself “What do I feel like doing?” Surfing in the morning, working in the afternoon, and drinks at night. I got a lot more focused and I developed my business a lot further.

I connected with amazing and wild people. We didn't have fancy dining or clubbing but we were happy with Assa Jawa’s Nasi Campur and Fridays at Surfers. The people traveling and living in Lombok were more like the people I found 10 years ago in Bali. Life was simpler and easier. We created a community, a tribe.

I fell in love and I learned how to love selflessly. I savored the process of layering someone out and guarding off myself to be layered out too. Lombok was a tropical jungle dream between coconut trees, full moons, surfing waves, and smiles (: taken in Lombok, Indonesia by @robbertruiz

6 months Indo (Bali editie)

We ate, we worked, we danced, we partied, we surfed, we modeled, we swam, we fine-dined, we biked, we paddled, we cracked, we cocktailed, we laughed, we socialized, we sunsetted, we enterprised, we networked, we mingled, we connected, we hangovered, we clicked, we unclicked but we mostly enjoyed life.

Bali is the first place that I backpacked when I was 18 and 10 years have past. It’s definitely a different place but it’s definitely still fun. Im terrible with pics so this is just a sneak peek but I feel like you get what is the Bali life. taken in Bali, Indonesia by @robbertruiz

[16.12.2021] “Memories of Egypt”

It was 2021 and the world was still dealing with Covid but we managed to escape once again. But of course we did, it was your birthday! We made it to Egypt and we explored ancient temples and sailed down the Nile river. We dived the Red Sea looking for wrecked ships and colorful fishes. We danced with the beduins and felt like Indiana Jones going through the Pyramids of Giza.

All of it together ❤️ It was an unforgettable birthday that I was so happy you chose to spend with me, it was very special.

And, although this year we are not somewhere together celebrating your birthday, Im still celebrating you and how wonderful it is you are a part of my life. Feliz cumple Lors ❤️ to many more together! taken in Egypt by @robbertruiz

Today I made a dream come true.

In the past few years since I became a diver, I’ve traveled to many destinations where diving with sharks was a popular practice. From Mexico to the Philippines and Cape Town, sharks are given bait and divers watch from a cage or the bottom of the sand how the wildest animal in the ocean is slowly domesticated. I always had moral issues with this practice and therefore, refused to participate in such business. I always hoped for the day I would dive with them free and wild.

Today, karma gifted me with the most espectacular dive I could ever dream of. Today, I could dive and interact with 5 wild and beautiful pregnant Reggies. 🙌🏽 taken in Sodwana Bay by @robbertruiz
