First ever gravelrace at @dustygravelseries and managed a top 10 spot!🤩

Racing together with two of my athletes @kemlnutbeard and @jason_de_graeve_ made it even more special!

@thetraka was quite the experience for me!

A last-minute cancellation of @kemlnutbeard’s flight made me sign up for the TRAKA — initially for the 200k distance. But due to some ticket issues, my only option ended up being the 360k. My longest bike ride before this was 176k, so taking on a race of more than double that — on gravel roads — was a pretty wild idea.

With a “bang hartje”, I rolled into the starting box among some big hitters at 5:50 a.m. and began my 13-hour adventure.

Started a bit too easy and passed the first checkpoint in 178th position. Still felt fresh at 135k and decided to up the pace. Suffered my way through the kilometers and crossed the finish line in 66th place (in a pretty stacked field), having caught more than 50 bonked riders in the last 200k.

In the end, I’m really stoked with the performance and loved the adventure.
