Last 24 hours. Epic one-shot with Peter Cincotti, and last slide reveals the end of a little personal project. Pour ceux qui savent ;) no it’s not scarlet, but I CAN get around. taken in Espace Carpeaux by @robbyjazz

Cassandra Wilson was a force and a source. She could make it rain (Jon you know). I had the incredible honor to make the last record and tour as her sax player. To describe the ouverture of things absorbed, learned - the changes and people that followed - well let’s just say it’s still happening. All singers who feel supported and felt by me since have her to thank. And as a leader, she was an alchemist on stage, on her terms and unapologetic about it. She carried a torch.

Billie Holiday & Lester Young, baby. But we actually WENT there. Didn’t say more after the first couple chats, it happened on stage.

Last Song (for Lester) was about Billie not getting to say goodbye.

Thank you, Cassandra. I would have loved to do it all again. Rest in Peace. taken in Paris, France by @robbyjazz
