And many many more creative folks who touched this magnificent piece. It truly took an entire village to bring “Resucitó” to the stage. We began devising this play in May of 2025, and nearly a year later, we got to share this beautiful story with hundreds of audience members.

This play is one of the most special pieces of art I’ve ever created, and I’m so eternally blessed and grateful to have crafted this play with so many talented and dedicated artists. Thank you to @txsttdf for giving me this opportunity to devise and produce this show as a part of my MFA thesis. And a big thank you to everyone who came out (near and far) to support this show and enjoy its story.

We are just two short weeks away from my thesis production opening! This play has become such a large part of my life, and I can’t wait to share it with y’all! 🩷🧡

Set in 1990s El Paso, TX, “Resucitó” is an intimate exploration of a Mexican American Catholic community on the verge of transformation. Through the intertwined lives of young first-generation characters, the play examines the tension between tradition and self-discovery. As cultural expectations and religious doctrine collide with personal identity, this community confronts the hidden truths of their upbringing and begin to question the very foundations of the world they were taught to revere.

2025 in a nutshell:

I’m just five short months away from graduating with my masters, so this last year was a whole lot of school, directing, teaching, and honing my craft as a theatre maker and teaching artist. Along the way I spent a lot of time (though not nearly enough) with my friends and family. I traveled a bit, I spent some time in nature, and I annoyed my cat. The biggest highlight: I got engaged to @ron_swan_song and spent every day by his side smiling and laughing my head off. ❤️‍🔥🥰

Creatively, I directed “The River Bride” and began devising and designing my thesis production, “Resucitó” (premiering in April, ticket link in my bio 😉). I worked on movement and choreography with my fave Austin artists @coldframecollective2018 and am in the process of choreographing a whimsical new play called “The Wolf You Feed” with @vortex_rep. I’m so grateful for these opportunities and the new connections I’ve made along the way!

I’ve learned so much about myself and the type of energy and art I want to create and put into the world. I continue to fall deeply in love with the theatre and the intensely vulnerable and passionate artists that I create with. I’ve been so blessed to have collaborated with many incredible artists and my cup runneth over with inspiration and resonance!

I put so much hard work into 2025. It was equal parts preparation and action, and I’m sure 2026 will follow suit! Thank you to everyone who was a part of my 2025, I couldn’t have done it without all of you! May 2026 bring us together again for new experiences and wonderful memories. 💖

Hello, Goodbye | 2024

And just like that… another year has come and gone and so many beautiful and silly memories were made.

I’m at the halfway point in my MFA program and spent 1/2 of my 1st year and 1/2 of my 2nd year of school in 2024. Many long days of taking and teaching classes, long evenings in rehearsals, or grading and studying. As stressful as it’s been, it’s worked out! Only 1.5 years left to go, and I’ve got my work cut out for me in 2025 😅 thankfully I have my grad cohort to get me through it 😮‍💨

In between the madness of grad school and creative projects I got to travel to NYC and Portland, as well as all over central Texas. ✈️ Ate a lot of good food, had some big laughs, danced my booty off, enjoyed so much art, and had a gay old time with friends 🪩 and spent the whole year with @ron_swan_song by my side 🥰

Overall, it was another year full of being a human and experiencing all the wonderful and tragic things that come with life. May 2025 be as fruitful and magical 💕 by @robbywithawhy
