Patrick Wenz – BS Nosepick on a wind turbine foundation in the moonlight - printed in the newest issue of @freeskatemag Back in December 2025, Patrick and I passed this spot on a daily basis. Patrick when he took his little one out in the stroller, and me on my way to work. Because of family obligations and work, it took us a while to actually make it there. On December 30th, we finally hit the spot and, although temperatures were below freezing, we managed to shoot three tricks and some side shots. We were pretty happy with how they turned out and stoked that we made it before the spot was gone. Three months later, the spot was still there. While we were at the skatepark for our mandatory Monday after-work session, Patrick told me that it was a full moon that night. As I still had some lights in my trunk from a session the weekend before, we came up with the idea of lighting up the spot and trying to get a photo with the moon in the background. When we arrived, the moon was in the perfect position and we were hyped to get the shot. Then, all of a sudden, a truck and two vans pulled up next to the foundation, and I thought they were going to kick us out. Fortunately, the construction workers were pretty stoked about our idea. They told us they were only doing the preparation work and that the actual construction of the wind turbine would start in a few days. So Patrick kept skating, and we were stoked to get the photo. A few days later, the spot was gone. Today, there is a brand-new, gigantic wind turbine standing there (last slide), and every time I pass by it, I think about our little photo mission. I’m especially stoked that this shot ended up being printed as a double-page spread in the gallery section of the latest issue of Free Mag. by @robert_christ
