POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Mel passed away last Wednesday. I miss her immeasurably.

Mel was fun. Everyone had more fun with Mel. The first thing she ever said to me was “do you like to dance?” I can’t imagine my life without her telling me to stop worrying and turn the music up a bit louder.

I miss the warm feeling I had being with her. Seeing her pretty face smile back at me made me feel like I was in the right place. She was kind, loving, patient, funny and gorgeous. There were many times that I looked at her and wondered how I got so lucky to have a woman like her love me the way that she did.

When she walked down the aisle on that sunny afternoon, it felt like I wouldn’t have a worry for the rest of my life.

She was an incredible Mom. She made things exciting. So much of her energy was put towards memorable experiences for Robbie, Jody and me as well. The small things were just as important as the big things and every one was thoughtful.

Mel loved being with the people who were important to her. She wasn’t concerned with showing off what she had or where she was, what mattered was who was there for that moment and if she had her way, it would be outdoors. She helped me to understand that it’s ok to go after the things you love to do, even if it’s risky.

Mel hated tacky logos with ugly fonts, one particular Talking Heads song and “songs with no words”. She loved chip stands, outdoor concerts, karaoke, being by the water, “having a couple drinks there” and most importantly, being with her family.

She was funny and often didn’t know she was being funny. Sometimes the English and French mixed together to create new phrases like “don’t bite the horse that feeds you in the mouth.” She didn’t take herself too seriously and thought it was funny when other people did (“ok, relax there”).

I think Mel would roll her eyes at the idea of me saying that she changed my life, but it’s hardly an exaggeration. She was good to me in every way. She loved me unconditionally and gave me two incredible gifts in Robbie and Jody. I know that I’ll never fully be without her because I see so much of her in our boys.

Who needs the lottery when you have Mel. I love you ma belle. Goodbye for now. by @robert_dunn_iii

For this month’s INSIDE OUT at @915dupont I welcome back my good friend @robert_dunn_iii into the mix, for a night of boogie, funk and AOR (smooth) dance cuts. It’s always a really fun time playing alongside him, and there are a lot of new records in both of our bags that we want to share. As always, arrive early for maximum enjoyment.
