For the first time ever The Netherlands got an invitation for the International Surf Rescue Challenge. Let's say the unofficial world champs in surf life saving.
A chance I had to grab with both hands! So here we are back again at the beautiful beach of Mount Maunganui.

What a blast! 😍
In 2006 we were the first Dutch team to participate at the Aussies and Queensland State Titles. 💚🩶💚 #Zevenaar
18,5 years later we had the band back together at the same spot for the 2024 lifesaving world championships 💛💙
New memories to add the treasure chest, priceless! 🌞
Was great to see so many old and new mates again! The week was too short, I'll be back! 🤖

En route to my 10th National teams world championship! #lwc2022
Never ever thought I would get here. From my first worlds in 2002 🧒 and moulding my life around this sport in the years after, suddenly it was the beginning of 2022 👴 and being in maybe the best shape of my life. 🏎️
Of course like an f1 car breaking down after going the fastest ever, I got injured and spent the rest of the season trying to get back to being able to train normally. 👨‍🔧(Whatever defines normal for me?) It's been such a mental rollercoaster 🎢 game this while year, but eventually this team gave me goals and #10 got on the horizon. 🌅
I would happily exchange all 10 worlds for 1 where I would be individually very competitive, but that's not my purpose here. 🎯
Reinforced by getting sick this week, I will surely enjoy this one, share experience, hold hands, pull some pranks, thrive the team and hopefully start some to their multiple caps and this way of life(saving sport)! taken in Riccione by @robert_hendriks
