The Charlotte Coliseum was a multi-purpose sports and entertainment arena. Construction began in 1986 and was opened on August 11, 1988, with a dedication by Billy Graham. It was the home of the Charlotte Hornets from 1988 - 2002. The Coliseum hosted 371 consecutive NBA sell-outs from December 1988 to November 1997.

Standing at 871 feet tall the Bank of America Corporate Center is the 174th tallest building in the world. The tower was officially topped out on October 2, 1991. Its construction caused demolition of an entire city block which included the infamous department store Belk (built in 1908). The more you know.
