Mum’s gardens are the best gardens. Somehow there’s still raspberries to eat, plus there’s always at least one cat by @robertleeburn
Lewes Bonfire shenanigans, a lovely time as always and super proud of chef pal from the Needlemaker’s days @patswoodfiredpizza for the delightful new oven 👌 by @robertleeburn
Autumn forage ride featuring cows and dream house, lovely stuff by @robertleeburn
The new @wilsonsbristol bakery is very good indeed 😋 by @robertleeburn
First post lockdown drinks in an actual glass and it was very good indeed. Thanks @bristoldistillingco and @chompgrill , great having you as neighbours 👏👏👏 #bristolfood #bristoldistillingco #chompbristol by @robertleeburn
Yakitori dinner. Vaguely trying to emulate some bits we had in Japan last year. Not quite at the level of @yakitorikodama but pretty darn tasty. 1. Deboned chicken wing 2. Marinated wild boar with sake, ginger & soy 3. Padron peppers (couldn’t get shishito) 4. Asparagus with togarashi & lemon (no yuzu) 5. Tuna Negi with wasabi. Thanks to @mevalco @cliftonseafoodshop and @rarebutchers for some lovely produce 👍 #bristolfood #yakitori #wildboar by @robertleeburn
Scalded rye based on the always great @5oclockapron recipe. Slightly uneven rise, which I’m blaming on my terrible domestic oven, but pretty darn tasty #bristolfood #yetanothersourdoughpost by @robertleeburn
Sort of cassoulet/shakshuka type hybrid baked eggs brunch schtick with some great mergeuz from Rare and the last of the white beans from @mevalco (need to put another order in now!) Peggy once again sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong. Stay safe folks #bristolfood #rarebutchersofsouthville #shakshuka #catsareannoyingsometimes by @robertleeburn
Yep. Pretty much the best Mother’s Day gift ever. I’m definitely her favourite now. Only problem is now I’m now certain I should have got one for myself too. Massive thanks to @0scarholgado @tom_m_adams @benglazer @bartholomewstrat and all the team @coombesheadfarm If these ever go on sale again I heartily recommend you indulge #coombsheadfarm #magalitza by @robertleeburn
When life gives you loads of milk because you get a delivery the day before suddenly closing your kitchen make milk jam. Thanks @osiprestaurant and @merlin_johnson , when all this nonsense is done I am very much due a visit #bristolfood by @robertleeburn
Spent the day fermenting, pickling and generally preserving as much perishable stock on site. We’re closing the doors at The Folk House for the foreseeable future, but will be back. We’re lucky that our situation should allow us to ride this out better than most but others might not. If you care about decent independent business, please try to use them as best you can over the next few weeks/months. Instead of Dominoes get @berthaspizza , instead of Five Guys get @bristolsqueezed , and instead of Costa get @swevencoffee . Also @hugosgreengrocer @casper_bristol and @kaskwine are good people with great things so buy their stuff. Look out for your locals folks, stay safe out there #bristolfoodanddrink #bristolindependents #fuckthetories by @robertleeburn
