11 years ago, when Priscilla and I were still just dating, Luna came into our lives.

We found her with a broken foot, when we were both still living at our parents’ houses. We had no idea then just how much life she would end up living with us.

She was there when we got engaged.
She was there when we bought our first home.
She was there when we got married.
And she was there when our little family grew and Penelope came into the world.

When I look back at the biggest moments of my adult life, Luna is in almost every chapter.

Before I ever became a dad, Luna taught me how to be one. She taught me what it meant to have someone depend on you. To be patient. To protect. To worry. To care for someone even when they couldn’t tell you what they needed. And most importantly, to love unconditionally.

In a way, she helped prepare me for Penelope.

We thought we rescued a little dog with a broken foot 11 years ago, but the truth is, she became part of the
foundation of our family.

She watched Priscilla and me grow up together. She watched us go from two kids dating and living with our parents to husband and wife, homeowners, and Mom and Dad.

And through every version of our lives, there was Luna.

I wish we could have had 11 more years. I wish Penny could have grown up with you a little longer. And I wish there were words big enough to explain how much you
meant to us.

Thank you for growing up with us, Luna.

Thank you for loving our family.

And thank you for teaching me how to be a dad before I ever knew I was going to be one.

You were there at the beginning of our family.

You'll always be part of it. ❤️🌈🐾

I had the entire weekend off. Naturally, I used this rare opportunity to relax by becoming the personal assistant to a 3-year-old.

We bought flowers. 💐
Ate pizza. 🍕
Went to ballet. 🩰
Read some books. 📚
Blew kisses. 😘
And I spent roughly 73% of the weekend being told where to go and what to do by someone who can't legally operate a microwave.

Wouldn't change a thing. ❤️

10/10 weekend. My boss is tiny, but the benefits are incredible.

Happy Mother’s Day to my wife ❤️
