KITTY CAT THERAPY Kit the Kat has love to spare. Whenever we need some pet lovin' we stroll down Kit's street. Her imaginary theme song plays in our heads as Kit trots from her office under a front yard bush and hops into our laps. Soft furrin' and sweet purrin' ensues. Life slows down and our racing minds quiet. This sweetie pie loves the attention and we love this fine feline. ❤️ See you next time, Kit. ❤️ by @robertpincombe

I am a wee bit late to the 2 billion dollar party for Spider-Man Brand New Day. Enjoyed the heck out of it though. It was a surprisingly moving exploration of loneliness, sacrifice, and found family. Depression can cause us to cut ourselves off from the emotional connections that we need to live fully involved lives. Spoilers ahead if anyone else on the planet has yet to see the film. 3... 2... 1... The Punisher-Spidey relationship was hilarious and accurate to the comics. Two lost souls dealing with having nobody left in their worlds gravitate together. So good. Zendaya does real heavy lifting as someone having no link to the connection Peter remembers, and yet is open enough to believe in the possibility that one did once exist. Her chemistry with husband Tom Holland is off the charts. Holland also gives a nuanced performance. Peter fighting his body's transformation is a wonderful physical manifestation of the theme of change versus stagnation. Bruce Banner was a great choice for the argument of embracing change vs. the fear of what you might become. This Hulk is back to being the terrifying rage beast he truly is. And yet, the Hulk himself is also the only being on the planet who has a glimmer of recognition for Peter. Sadly, the main villain did not work for me so well. The power set did not match the character she is based on and felt more like a set-up for upcoming Marvel movies than a natural Spider-Man plot. Despite that annoyance, she was still an intriguing adversary full of menace and really pushed Peter's buttons... which made his final sacrifice all the more heroic. Damage Control worked but why use the Hand Ninja Clan and NOT the Ten Rings? Sadly, there was only one actual Spidey villain (Scorpion) and he's barely in it. This from a hero with a deep bench of truly unique baddies. A quick montage of villains off the top teases what could have been. The action is Spidey-tastic. The emotional ending and connections are well earned. Direction from Destin Daniel Cretton is off the charts with many spinning plates. Definitely worth seeing more than once. My Spidey senses are tingling... 4 Web thwips out of 5! by @robertpincombe

Canadian National Exhibition 2026 We touched the moon! Rode the rides, oohed and ahhed over a high dive show, enjoyed the furry felines at the the cat show competition, met a bunch of friendly farm animals, lunched on a Po’ Boy sandwich plus over-priced corndog and spent time at the well designed Space Exploration exhibit, where we both touched an actual piece of the moon for the win! (Not the pictured model. A small piece of actual moonrock picked up on a NASA mission.) by @robertpincombe

Hairy Gourd Invasion! Our neighbours are incredible gardeners. They grow a year’s worth of vegetables in their front yard every summer and we are always amazed by their bounty. But far and away the most amazing things are their gigantic hanging hairy gourds... The largest is half my height! Of course, when they grow this huge one worry enters my mind… ALIENS! 🤣 by @robertpincombe

“The Magic Misfits”, a 4-book middle grade series by Neil Patrick Harris, proves he’s got the magic touch. This joyful adventure series for young readers, features a group of heroes each specializing in their own area of magic – escapology, sleight of hand, levitation, and custom magic props. The adventures are inventive and fun, though little time is given to deep characterization. To some extent you can substitute one character for the other. Plot momentum is paramount and the read is fun, engrossing and brisk. But NPH has other tricks up his sleeve - codes and fun puzzles to solve and breaks to teach readers magic tricks and principles - making this a unique interactive reading experience. Once these basics are mastered, a reader has all the building blocks they need to create their own perfomance. Neil's love of the craft is evident. As a former president of Hollywood’s Magic Castle, he is true believer and his series is a perfect gateway drug to help young people fall in love with magic. With top-notch design and illustrations provided by artists Lissy Marlin and Kyle Hilton, these book are a gorgeous addition to my bookshelf. I give this New York Times and USA Today bestselling series 4 Top Hats and a Magic Wand for any young reader. #nph #lazyfishyart #kylehiltonillo #magiccastlehotel #hachetteus #middlegradebooks #kidbookreview #kidsbookstagram #magicmisfits #mgbookstagram by @robertpincombe

My boss made Anzac cookies and gave me one, and now my wife and I are obsessed! She asked for these instead of a birthday cake this week! I made two batches. DEEELISH! Anzac biscuits are a traditional Australian and New Zealand treat associated with Anzac Day, April 25th, (Like Remembrance Day here.) The cookies used ingredients that were easier to find during World War 1 rationing. They had a long shelf life and were sent to soldiers in care packages. by @robertpincombe

Presenting "Writing Mr. Wrong" by #kelleyarmstrongauthor Another fun rom-com summer read by fellow canuck author Kelley Armstrong, who writes in many genres and makes them all look easy. I especially appreciate that Armstrong spends time in the professional worlds of both protagonists so we see how they work and thrive on their own, then grow towards one another. It adds depth to the characters amid the miscommunications and building romance. Armstrong's confident comedic touch with character interplay makes the words and pages fly by. This book is a league leading top scorer. Enjoy! #romanticbooks #bookreview, #romancebookrecs #romancereads #bookrecomendation by @robertpincombe

It's the 30th year anniversary (Give or take couple of years) of one of my first professional experiences as an actor and producer. "Fast" was a play written by my then roommate #MarkHuisman, directed by #TraceyHway, and produced by Tracey and myself. Poster art is by ME! And yes, that photo is my bloody hand stuck in the couch after my character gets trapped flipping over to search for loose change and bills. :) We took it for the show program. #peterivaskiv #lindabarnettcoelho #coelholindabarnett and Tina Moreau by @robertpincombe
