If you've just landed here..
Hi, I’m Robert.

I’m 39 and I coach people who already train, in strength, conditioning or both.

I train and coach people who care about their training, but don’t want to figure it all out alone or need more structure to stay consistent.

For years I trained only for strength, thinking endurance would interfere with it.
I wanted both, but I didn’t know how to combine them.

Now I coach people with a method that improves both, with structure and results.

You can work with me in 3 ways:
Athletic Training camp, 1-on-1 Online Coaching, or both.

Want to train with more structure?
Comment “STOLLA” or send me a DM.
I’ll make sure you get all the info. by @robertstols

I flew to Hamburg to support two athletes at their Hyrox Elite 15 debuts. somehow I ended up racing myself too😉

The weekend was supposed to be about Cem and Iza, but since I was going anyway, I figured I might as well race myself. With Malaga and Valencia still in my legs, probably not my best decision 😉
In short; Not my best race, (#5AG) but I unlocked a new exercise and I’m happy with how I handled it mentally, even though the last slide might suggest otherwise…

BUT what I enjoyed most was being there as a coach. I know @cembundy and @izatulkenss pretty well by now, but watching them compete at the highest level gives me so much more information. Seeing how they handle certain situations tells me a lot about what we should focus on in the next training block.

We already went through their races together shortly afterwards. Monday we’re back to work, with some valuable insights to bring into their programming.
For the full race recaps, go check out Cem and Iza’s posts 💪

Really proud of both of them and very happy I made the trip! 👊 by @robertstols

Three and a half years ago, @cembundy and I were standing in Manchester during our first Hyrox WC, talking about how incredibly insane it would be to one day race in the Elite 15 (not me, we meant Cem😉).
And this evening he’ll be doing exactly that, alongside Maarten. Knowing how much work has gone into getting here, it’s really special to think back to that conversation.

I’ve watched Cem grow as an athlete for years, first as a friend and a bit over a year ago we decided I’d start coaching him as well. I really mean it when I say, I’ve never had any doubt that he would make it to this level even though the insane competition nowadays.. that doesn’t make me any less impressed by everything he’s done to get here💪🏽

I’m incredibly proud of him and I think it’s pretty cool that tonight I get to stand on the coaching side of the venue rather than watching from the stands as a fan.

Pretty cool to see something we talked about years ago really happened🙏
Enjoy every second of it, Cem 👊

Today I’m here to support @izatulkenss as she makes her Elite 15 debut alongside Michaela. I’ve been closely involved in her preparation for quite some time now, so seeing her race at this level is something I’m really excited about.

It’s also pretty cool to experience a Major from a different perspective for once, being here as a coach and focusing on someone else’s performance 💪🏽.

Really looking forward to seeing what these two can do today! 👊 by @robertstols

This weekend my clients @izatulkenss and @cembundy will both make their @hyroxworld Elite 15 Doubles debut in Hamburg. Iza with Michaela and Cem with Maarten.

I only coach Iza and Cem individually, so I’m not claiming the team result as mine. But I’ve been closely involved in both preparations for a long time. And seeing them reach this point definitely feels special🙏

The way I work with them is also quite different. With Iza there’s a lot of day-to-day contact. We’re in touch almost every day about how she recovered, how she feels and if we need to change anything for the next session. I prefer working like that because I don’t want to wait until the end of the week to find out that something should have been changed three days earlier.

With Cem, a big part of my role is knowing when to give him room to regulate things himself and when not to (and making sure he is not doing walking lunges with one of his clients sitting on his back on his rest day🙈).
There are moments where he needs to back off, but there are also moments when a session feels really really hard, but doesn’t necessarily mean he can’t handle more. Sometimes my job is then simply to say: you’re fine, keep going (especially when he visits us in Spain for a training camp).

That’s probably where I add the most value as a coach; Staying close to the athlete, knowing them well enough to make better decisions in the moment and being able to adjust quickly when needed.

I work with a small number of athletes individually, usually around a very specific performance goal. If you’re working towards something where you feel you could use this level of coaching, send me a message and tell me what you’re training for🏆 by @robertstols

Before my Friday’s Pro race, @theproteinguy.nl and I had already raced the doubles on Thursday. And we had a pretty important appointment at McDonald’s, so there was no time to waste💪🏽

We had a lot of fun out there and on sunday we finally found out that we had won our age group!🏆

Two races in two days and two podium finishes.
Pretty happy with how that weekend turned out!💪🏼 by @robertstols

After the doubles with Hamid yesterday, I wasn’t sure what to expect from my legs today. During the sleds, I got my answer straight away😂

I still managed to set a new PR in the Pro division and finish third in my age group. I’m really happy with that and apparently being an old man has it’s advantages😬

Now it’s time to eat the peppernuts Hamid brought us! 💪🏼

Next race in Hamburg! by @robertstols

Eerste race van het seizoen;

About 12 years ago, when @chantalstols and I worked for the same company, we already started talking about creating something together. Back then, we had no idea what that would look like. Fast forward to now, pretty big part of our life revolves around @stolla.fit.

We talk about our training camps over breakfast (sorry kids), training programs in the car (sorry again) and most of the time the conclusion is: there is always something that can be better 😂

But seeing two camps sell out back to back is really cool. We’re proud of that, because we also know how much work has gone into making that happen. And the more people we work with, the more ideas we get about what we want to improve next💪

At the same time, I still want to take my own training seriously. I think that’s important for me as a coach too. Whatever goal I’ve had over the last two decades, I’ve always wanted to keep testing things, keep learning and trying do the sessions I ask my clients to do (they somehow always seem a little harder when I have to do them myself 😂).

There’s still a lot we’re figuring out. But lately it feels like we’re getting closer and closer to what we always wanted to create. And that feels pretty damn good🙏 by @robertstols

When you’ve spent months building your base and suddenly your first race is six days away🤣💪

I did book it myself, so I can’t really act surprised 😉

I’ve spent quite some time building the engine. Now I’m curious to see how much of that fitness is still there when I get to the lunges and wall balls (hopefully better than the last slide).

Fir now the calendar runs through to March, with a mix of solo and doubles races. Qualifying for the HYROX World Championships in Hong Kong is the goal. There are also a few people on this schedule I’m really looking forward to racing with again💪

The sub 3 marathon has been postponed, again🤣. There are only so many things I can ask my body to do. Apparently it doesn’t get easier when you get older😉

First up, Málaga😎

I spend a lot of time training on my own. I’m looking forward to having some company. @salvadorplaubeda is actually bad company (he runs too fast😫).

@theproteinguy.nl is joining me for an Athletic Training Camp and we’re gonna combine that with a doubles races in Valencia🏆

I’d like to qualify for Hong Kong.. Now you’ll understand why I’m taking those wall balls quite personally (see last slide). Probably a little bit too early but excited to see where the fitness is.

My client and buddy @cembundy is racing the elite15, why not supporting him? And showing him the day before how it’s supposed to be 🤣😝

Finally fit enough to share the course with my wife @chantalstols .. Really looking forward to this one❤️

🏆🤞Hong Kong with my bro @salvadorplaubeda

I also just really enjoy doing this. Travelling somewhere, meeting people and racing together.
Final of Hybrid day with the fast gorilla Salva💪🏽

There’s a decent stretch of training before Madrid.
Big peak over here🦥

That takes us through to March. For certain a lot fitter💪🏽

Which one will I see you at?
Talk soon!
