Legacy legacy legacy.....family family family

I made my way back home as I always have from a kid. As my grandmother always told me. You are a bostonian. I know I am and I am sooo Chicago🥰

I have always enjoyed visiting the ones that contributed to who I am today. The aunts, the uncles the cousins were some of the best experiences of my life.

I learned the skill of adjusting and following rules at each of their homes. I always welcomed and loved.

Please give your children the gift of their family because when you are gone they will have relationships to last beyond you!

I also took time to see and visit my moms resting place which my brother placed her by a beautiful pond. I tried to stay but i could hear her saying girl would you go live your life🤷...

My legacy is filled with beautiful people for sure.

I know one thing the genes dont lie. Ha!

Years ago, when I was in my twenties. I was working in my upward mobile career in IT at Allstate. At the same time, I was a mentor at Harper High School in Englewood.

John Zeigler and Louis Wright sat me down and said, "You are good at this. You need to come work with us at Harper. I initially declined.

They said we are doing God's work. It will be worth your time. Don't worry about the money. They gave me the salary. I went home and prayed, went over my expenses, and called my Dad and mentor. They both said no. 🤣🤣 "My mom was like, okay, but I hope you can pay your bills." By the end of that week, I turned in my resignation at Allstate and accepted the position at Harper. I took a $30,000 cut in pay. Along with the fact that unlike all of my smart, dedicated educator friends, I had never worked in a school.

I worked as a career counselor, and I stayed for 4 years. It was the most innovative and happiest time of my career.

Fast forward, my former student now,a grown successful man @thetoniowilliams, Tony Williams, has written a book and dedicated to me. He tells a story of his childhood journey, and the impact I had on him changed his walk positively.

Recently, I went to his town so that he could give me my signed copy in person.

Introducing @tonypopsthebubble with me on the cover ha!

Over my life, I have been asked about my journey. One thing I have always done is trust the process of my decisions. Once the decision is made, I put my whole heart into it and lead with love ❤️.

Some risks you take you will not gain money but so much more.

My time at Harper High School has been the gift that keeps on giving. I know a small tinge of how an educator feels when a student or parent acknowledges their hard work and dedication.

I don't take it lightly that a young black male was influenced by me and has soared ever since.

This was a long post, but I had to tell the journey and sacrifices that were made and ended up a huge reward for both Tony and I.

If you would like to purchase the book, please use the link below. If you want to click on the link and just learn more, feel free.

As I countdown to my milestone birthday, I stepped out to celebrate with some of my seasoned friends—my true family. Celebrating them moving into their next chapter and showing me how to keep the good times rolling. The solution? Keep moving, keep dancing, keep dressing up, and most importantly, keep a good skin regimen. Happy birthday, Greg! Vince, keep on showing us how to "lean in" to our poses. Annette, you are simply the personification of class. #Scorpio #Birthday #Friends #Gratitude 🥂✨🎂 by @robinagent

The real flex is sitting at the kids/cousins table. We had a rodeo good time. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Greg! You are blessed!

Sometimes you need someone to believe in you until you learn how to believe in yourself. ❤️

For me, that person was my school counselor, Robin @robinagent She saw something in me that I couldn’t see yet. She helped me challenge the “I can’t” thoughts and taught me that my circumstances didn’t have to determine my future.

And my best friend Jermaine @just_get_it_now ? He stood right by my side. Through the fear, the doubt, and the moments I wanted to give up, he reminded me I wasn’t alone.

Robin, thank you for seeing me, believing in me, and helping me believe in myself. Jermaine, thank you for your friendship and for standing beside me when I needed it most. You both helped shape the person I am today. ❤️

Never underestimate what a positive adult influence can mean in a child’s life. When an adult listens, shows up, and sees their potential, it can change how that child sees themselves and the world. It can give them the courage to dream bigger, make different choices, and take a path they never thought was possible. I know because it happened to me.

This animated version of Tony Pops the Bubble: The Journey to a Growth Mindset brings that journey to life. 🫧✨

The mission behind my book is personal. I want children to know they are capable, their voices matter, and their dreams deserve a chance. And I want adults to remember that your encouragement could be the beginning of a whole new chapter in a child’s life.

📚 Order your copy on Amazon today! Read it with your child, share it with a student, or gift it to someone who needs to hear, “I believe in you.”

Every bubble can be popped. And once you pop the bubble, the sky’s the limit! 🫧📌

Today is Carole Ann Pettit"s 90th heavenly birthday, man oh man we would have had a great double milestone celebration this month.

You gave me life and the gift of making sure I celebrated my life every year. I caught on quickly and continued your legacy. This year man, has come with unexpected emotional challenges but getting there 😭😏🙏 Lord knows that you would be saying girl, move on.🤷

As my brother said, thank you for the love, the cakes, the cards, and all the memories. Your crazy kids are moving forward. Celebrating new beginnings. We got a #12 and 1 squared on the way.

I miss you but it is with immense gratitude and DEEP amazement everyday of what you did with your HEART for your legacy. We continue to love and support one another. I believe we are using our heart to mimic what you exhibited with every interaction.

Much love Nanny! Toast of crown royal sent straight to you.

The beginning....

Tampa rooftop glow

I had to lay my eyes on my girl in her new city

Of course her grandson fell for the auntie robin charm

Ready for another day of adventure

Beautiful ladies raised by beautiful moms

Tampa rooftop vibes, the theme? We will cover alot of ground while we are here. We had a lot of fun, ate good food and listened to alot of good music. Thank you for making my pre-birthday trip so great!

When you are surprised with a tshirt not only in honor of your mom but in honor of momma francine's words that she always said to me.

Hyde park village vibes. If "we covered alot of ground" was a group....that would be US

Yup well rich in love lol

The other birthday girl my sugie woogie.

Add another stadium to my list of visits

A moment to compliment the surprise a reset was needed for me for sure. We gonna keep on living!

Reminiscing on a week of good memories... by @robinagent

Well, #12 Pettit grandchild is on his way. We went to celebrate. Evan we are so proud of you. We will always support you. Auntie was able to travel with a few of the "original" nieces and nephews. I enjoyed observing and hanging with the crew. I am blessed to be able to be apart of their evolution. It is scary because i changed all of their diapers. I digress ha!

Happy birthday big brother! My moms favorite son. My go to and manager ha! The one that made my entire life interesting. The one that was a part of making me a forever auntie over and over again. The loyalty you have for all of us no matter what is unmatched. We love our Dad. However, as we always say Moms made you everything you are🥰

LOVE ALWAYS YOUR FAVORITE BABY SISTER! by @robinagent

Well, The Bowties and Stilletoes event first, is a FUNDRAISER! Hosted by by the AKAs The Imani Pearls and JCCL foundation. This song "You got the look" was consistent at this party with a purpose. A well executed event from beginning to end. I had another proud moment. Class, excellence and elegance.

I am happy that more young people will benefit from the money raised.

Late post: I truly enjoyed celebrating a wonderful life, an honorable servant and the center of her family, affectionately known as Auntie Freddie along with her partner, Darryl. An honorable couple both celebrating 75 years of life with their families. Wow, laughing and living life. It was my honor to be apart of the attendees to celebrate them both.

The best is yet to come!

Keep teaching us long life is actual real life!

Keep on keeping on Auntie Freddie, we love you. by @robinagent
