This pin-up is from last year. I can't post most of the really overtly 'filthy' stuff I draw and publish, on here, but people know I do it, and I have had people ask me why I seem shameless about drawing erotic/porn art. They've asked me what my wife thinks, what my parents think. If I worry about how I'm perceived by others.

These aren't bad questions and I answer them as pragmatically as I can, but these types of queries seem to ignore one essential truth:

The horny, pervy part of us is the natural human part. The puritanical part of us is taught. If you weren't taught to be ashamed of your sexuality, you won't be. I'm not abnormal, I'm just honest. by @robinbougieman

My single mom and I spent a lot of my very early years in the remote Canadian North. Oten living in cabins and during the coldest parts of the winter with playmates and comfortable outdoor time few and far between, Loveday had to come up with ways to entertain me. This being the days before the internet, and us living in a place where even TV reception was a luxury, it was hard to keep a 6-year-old boy from going out of his mind with boredom.

One time that will *always* stick with me was us spending a cold winter's afternoon at the dinner table, while she literally made toys for me out of paper, and I helped color them. To me it was like fucking MAGIC that she could just take a sheet of paper and turn it into something that almost seemed alive?! Little people, stores, houses, vehicles, etc. Astonishingly two of the dozen or so little paper-craft toys she made that day survived, and are in my possession. How this country store and funny little car didn't get mangled in the 47 years that they've existed is bewildering to me, and yet here they sit in my hand as a 53-year-old.

Thank you for teaching me the value of creativity, Mom. And instilling its enchantment in my heart. by @robinbougieman

My brother Dave and I went to the local post office in the little town my mom lives in, to break the news to them that she had died. Loveday was gregarious and made friends wherever she went, and sure enough one of the women working there named Corrine was one of those, and very sad indeed to get the news. She and I had a good hug and a cry.

Then she said "you have to come with me into the back, I have something to show you".

I have to preface this by saying that my mom's biggest celeb crushes in the 1980s were Don Johnson and Edward James Olmos, and they were both on her favorite TV show, Miami Vice. We were both obsessed with it and we watched it together every week, on the little black portable TV in my bedroom.

She found a sexy poster of him in a mall in Calgary, his wet nipples and glistening chest hair poking through his soaked clothes. She hung it up on the back of our bathroom door, with a big goofy smile on her face. She would always make funny little comments about it, like "oooh la-la!" Or click her tongue like she was cat-calling him, and say "aaayyy! Here comes Don!". She'd laugh uproariously when visiting people would come out of the bathroom asking why we had that poster.

Corrine took us into the post office staff bathroom. A decade earlier my mom had come in and given her the Don Johnson poster. I couldn't believe it. It was there in the post office all this time, all those times I came to pick up her mail, and it was still giving the ladies a thrill. That made me so happy! Lol. I had just assumed "Don coming out of the surf" disappeared decades ago, but I certainly remember having him staring at me every time I was trying to use the toilet as a kid. 😆

"We love it!", Corrine said. "And look, we even kept the little note that your mom wrote on it for us. It's right there on the poster." by @robinbougieman

When I tell people I'm a feminist, she's who I'm thinking of. A vulnerable soul who wanted a life of art, music, writing and teaching, but one that would take NO shit. by @robinbougieman

Over a million Ukrainian and Russian people have had to die in a relatively short period of time, so that Putin can try to grab more land and resources. What doesn't get talked about enough is that this is the most blatant act of aggression in Europe since WW2, and it has been a ruthless attack that is totally unjustifiable, despite the propaganda dictators and tyrants feed you about it.

Ukraine’s real "crime" here, the thing that caused this, was their ambition to align more with democratic nations and its interest in joining NATO (in part to deter Putin's bid for expansion), and it has been met with brutal aggression from Russia. The rest of the world hasn't done nearly enough to support this country. by @robinbougieman

My life is so weird this week. These 3 bunnies were totally ignoring all the other ferry passengers and just came up to this one girl and I, while we were waiting to board. She sat on the grass and said "I guess we're special!" and then the ferry worker came over and said "you guys are the bunny whisperers". lol

The one bun started tugging on my shoelaces and it took all my self-control not to put it in my bag and take him home to Rebecca. The previous sailing people were throwing up because the water was so choppy, So the boat had to turn back. And then when the water turbulence started getting really bad on our sailing, I texted Rebecca and said "I think the bun was trying to tell me not to get on the boat!!".

Yooooo, I can't wait to get off this bouncy boat and see my little family again. 🫪 I'm dizzy 🫣 by @robinbougieman

Loveday, my mom. Circa early '80s. I love this one. That was our living room in Calgary, Alberta -- and I swear looking at this I can almost still hear the sound of that typewriter clacking ❤️ (1939 -2026) by @robinbougieman
