Ohana Fest this year just hit differently. Celebrating the festival’s 10th anniversary made an already extraordinary experience even more special. And there is something truly magical about sharing the music you have loved for a lifetime with your children and seeing that same passion come alive in them. Experiencing it all with Colette and Grant made the day even more meaningful, and having my brother Carroll there was icing on the cake!

I absolutely adored Rilo Kiley, and Fontaines D.C. was absolutely INSANE! What an incredible performance! And the Pixies? I have waited what feels like my entire life to hear “Here Comes Your Man” performed live, and it was every bit as remarkable as I imagined.

But the absolute masterpiece was Pearl Jam. When the very first notes of “Daughter” filled the air, I thought I was going to lose my mind! That moment alone was worth every minute. I have seen Pearl Jam several times over the years, but nothing quite compared to this performance. Hearing so much of Ten, along with so many other extraordinary songs, was simply mind blowing. The nostalgia, the brilliance of the performance, and the energy of thousands of fans singing together were almost impossible to put into words.

Music has this remarkable way of transporting us through time, connecting generations, and reminding us of exactly who we were when we first fell in love with a song. And somehow, hearing those same songs decades later, surrounded by people you love, makes them even more beautiful.

Ten years of Ohana Fest, a lifetime of incredible music, and another beautiful reminder that some of life’s greatest moments are the ones we get to share.

Ohana, indeed. ❤️

Some nights are simply too spectacular to put into words. And then there’s Halloween Horror Nights, where the screams are plentiful, the imagination runs gloriously wild, and being scared out of your wits is somehow the entire point!

For someone who has been hopelessly enchanted by Halloween for as long as I can remember, this is quite possibly my idea of heaven, albeit with a few more monsters lurking in the shadows!

This was only our second year experiencing this extraordinary extravaganza, and I think it’s safe to say we’ve discovered a family tradition that is here to stay. Especially when I get to share all the thrills, laughter, and wonderfully unexpected scares with my girls!

Stranger Things was absolutely off the hook! The extraordinary Ozzy Osbourne maze was a fittingly dark and imaginative tribute to the Prince of Darkness himself, and every maze thereafter was a magnificent marriage of artistry, imagination, and sheer terror.

And oh, the nostalgia! From Hellraiser and the wonderfully twisted horrors of my teenage years to the exhilarating anticipation of what might be lurking around the next corner, it was a glorious reminder that some of us never quite outgrow our love of a good scare. Nor should we!

Every maze was its own little masterpiece, every jump scare an invitation to scream and laugh in equal measure, and every moment another fabulous memory made together.

There is something truly magical about watching imagination come to life on such an extraordinary scale. The elaborate sets, the incredible performers, the attention to every deliciously sinister detail. It is an absolute feast for anyone who adores Halloween as much as I do!

Two years in, and I suspect we have many more spectacular nights of fright ahead of us. After all, why should Halloween magic be reserved for childhood?

I hope you’ll take a few moments to enjoy this reel and experience a little of the madness, magic, and magnificent mayhem with us!

There’s something so special about realizing that this magical time of year has arrived…and your kids still want to go to the pumpkin patch with you.

No matter how old they get, I will never take these moments for granted. The pumpkins, the fall air, the traditions, the laughter…and most of all, simply being together.

Such happiness abounds.

Happy National Daughters Day to these three intelligent, empowered, courageous and beautiful souls.

I am so incredibly proud of everything they are accomplishing and the lives they are creating, but even more than that, I am proud of who they are. They are genuinely kind, loving, thoughtful and simply lovely human beings.

Watching the love and patience they show their grandparents, especially as we circumnavigate this journey together, has made me even prouder of the women they have become. Their tenderness, presence and love mean more to me than they will ever know.

And one of the greatest gifts of this season of motherhood is that I genuinely love hanging out with my daughters. They are three of my very favorite people in the world.

You inspire me and make me want to be a better version of myself every single day. I feel so incredibly blessed to be your mom.

Love you more than the moon and the stars. Always. ❤️❤️❤️ #nationaldaughtersday by @robincoeleen

Some days are simply made of magic.

September 22nd brings together three things that make my heart very happy: the first day of my absolute favorite season, International Hobbit Day celebrating the extraordinary world of J.R.R. Tolkien, my favorite author, AND the unmistakable feeling that Halloween magic is officially in the air.

I mean…autumn leaves, pumpkins, cozy nights, candles, Hobbit holes, Middle Earth, second breakfasts and Halloween just around the corner? Are you kidding me? This may actually be my perfect day. 🤎

Life gives us plenty of reasons to be serious, and lately my heart has held more than its share. But maybe that makes these little pockets of joy even more precious: the traditions, stories, seasons and wonderfully silly things that still make us light up.

So today I’m choosing a little magic.

Happy First Day of Autumn.
Happy International Hobbit Day.
And hello, Halloween season…I’ve been waiting for you.

Today is World Alzheimer’s Day. 💜

I wish this were a day that had never become so personal to our family.

Alzheimer’s has changed our lives in ways I could never have fully understood until we began walking this road with my mom. It is a disease that slowly takes so much from the person you love, while asking more and more of everyone who loves them.

My greatest hope is that someday families will not have to experience what so many of us are experiencing now. That a daughter will not have to watch her mother slowly disappear. That husbands, wives, sisters, brother, children and grandchildren will not have to say goodbye in pieces. That there will be better treatments, earlier answers, and ultimately, a cure.

So today, I hope we do more than simply recognize Alzheimer’s. I hope we continue talking about it, learning about it, supporting those living with it and the families who love them, and believing in the research that may someday change the story for generations to come.

Today I’ll wear lavender for my beautiful mom. For every person living with this disease. For every family walking alongside them. And for all those who have already said goodbye.

Most of all, I’ll wear it with hope.

For my mom. For every family walking this road. And for a future without Alzheimer’s. 💜

Thirty years apart. The same dress. My Momma and me.

People have told me all my life that I look like my mother, but looking at these photographs side by side, I really see it. And somehow, right now, that means more to me than I can say.

The past few weeks have been a very difficult part of our Alzheimer’s journey. No one can truly prepare you for watching someone you have known and loved your entire life slowly become someone who needs you in an entirely different way.

But right now, there is a little brightening, and I am simply grateful.

My mom has known me every day of my life. She is not only my mother, she is one of my very best friends. Alzheimer’s has taken so much from her, but it has not taken her sweetness or her beautiful soul. In many ways she is like a young child now, and I have discovered that I love being with that child too. Every precious moment of her.

And then there is my dad. His eternal optimism has carried us farther than he knows. He always believes Mom can have a better day, get a little stronger, that something might improve. Somehow, his hope keeps the rest of us hoping too.

So many dear friends have told me, Enjoy every second.

I have taken that advice to heart.

Someday, my mother will be called away and released from the body and mind that have become so difficult for her. I know that day will come.

But that day is not today.

Today she is here. Today my dad is here. Today I get to love them both.

And someday, when I look back at these photographs, I know I will be grateful that I captured not only the sorrow of this chapter, but the tremendous love living right alongside it.

Thirty years apart. The same dress. My mother’s face in mine.

What a gift it is to still have this time. ❤️ by @robincoeleen

A long time ago, in what now feels like a land far, far away, I was a little girl at Milam Elementary School in McAllen, Texas. At lunchtime, we were allowed to bring record albums from home and play them on a record player on the playground. I distinctly remember KISS being very popular, but one day I showed up with Kansas’ Leftoverture. It wasn’t new, but my older brothers listened to it, so I knew it had to be cool. I absconded with their album, took it to school…and somehow, after all these years, I still have that very album.

There was a lot happening in our family then. Only a few months later, my parents would divorce. My dad would move away, and my mom, my brothers and I would leave Texas to begin a new life in California. It was one of those dividing lines in childhood where you can almost see the before and the after, and Leftoverture became part of the soundtrack to that time.

So seeing Kansas Friday night with my brother Carroll felt incredibly full circle. Hearing those songs all these decades later brought back memories I didn’t even realize were still tucked away inside me.

And then came Deep Purple, a band I admittedly never knew nearly as well, but after last night I am officially a fan. Ian Gillan is 81 years old and absolutely remarkable. If I can have that kind of energy, passion and presence at 81, I will consider myself extraordinarily blessed.

Music has an extraordinary way of carrying us through time. One song can take you back to a playground in Texas, to your brothers and a family before everything changed, and somehow bring you all the way forward again.

The album is still here. My brother is still beside me. The music is still playing. And life, in all of its unexpected chapters, keeps moving forward.

The past, the present and all that is still ahead.

What a miraculous evening. ❤️

There is something so incredibly special about watching your children experience the things that have always been on your own bucket list.

The Amalfi Coast has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, and somehow, seeing Chloe there first doesn’t make me wish I were there. It makes me incredibly happy that she is.

One of the greatest gifts of motherhood is watching your children’s world become bigger than your own, seeing them travel, explore, discover and have experiences you once dreamed about for yourself.

This photo just made my heart so happy. So grateful for the opportunities Chloe is having, for the memories she is making, and for the beautiful adventure she is living.

Beautiful wedding celebrating one of our own tying the knot. 🤍 Lifelong friends, so much laughter, and such a joy watching Rebecca and Nate exchange their beautiful vows and begin this next chapter together.

There is always humor with this group (as evidenced by the photos 😂), but beneath all the silliness is something I treasure beyond words: decades of friendship, shared history, countless celebrations, and bonds that have truly endured the test of time.

So grateful for these people, these moments, and another wonderful reason to celebrate together. Congratulations, Rebecca and Nate! Here’s to a lifetime of love, laughter and happiness. 🥂🤍 by @robincoeleen

What an incredible night. Guns N’ Roses is just one of those iconic bands whose music has been part of an entire generation. So many amazing songs, incredible ballads and anthems that still resonate after all these years.

Seeing them live at the Rose Bowl was absolutely amazing, but I think what made it even more incredible was feeling the energy of almost 90,000 people all experiencing it together. There is just something about hearing songs you have loved forever played live that never gets old.

And the cherry on top was Ice Cube. He was fantastic and still has so much talent and energy after all these years.

Such a wonderful night. So grateful to be able to check another iconic band off my bucket list and experience them in a place as legendary as the Rose Bowl. Definitely one for the memory books. #gunsnrosesforever #icecube #rosebowl #musicofageneration taken in Rose Bowl Stadium by @robincoeleen
