CLOUD 9 MUSIC VIDEOOUT NOWThe process used in the Cloud9 music video is based on Robin Hunter Blake’s photographic research into analog stroboscopic imaging, translating its principles into a moving-image workflow. Starting from in-camera experimentation, the goal was to recreate fragmented time and discontinuous motion while preserving the visual qualities of analog photography.The effect was developed through iterative compositing and procedural workflows in TouchDesigner, recreating layered exposures, temporal fragmentation, and controlled image instability. 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔖𝔭𝔦𝔩𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔤 𝔒𝔣 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔚𝔦𝔫𝔢Thank you to the people who made this image possible. From its conception as a sketch, the ideas of alchemy to the choreography, the image is imbued with memory and emotion. The aim was to create something that came from a place deep within, using memory and feeling as a guide to create the initial movements, later refined by those in the image then leaving the moments after to dictate the final result.When looking at this in post, it became apparent that it was an image of dissolution, a reflection of internal experience. The feeling it gave was as if they were spilling off the table.The piece was shown as a 130 x 86.6cm aluminium brushed dibond print, leaving the highlights to reveal hidden details as you move around it.The effort to create this was monumental and i will forever be grateful to @byronmichael @alexiamavrolleon @laurence.hills @violet.savage @_georgemjennings @conniemartin_ @baghdad_papi @dahliball @hanahlow @jack.dempsey.ewbank @cineviewstudios @procentre @le.clem.director Shot on medium format, hand developed then scanned and worked into. by @robinhunterblake

It was a true pleasure showing a new way of working with you. •A Mothers Song80x50cm Brushed Aluminum UV Print AVAILABLE The Prodigal Son112x70cm Brushed Aluminum UV Print AVAILABLEUntil the deed is done Mixed media installation Boxing bag, bullfighting spears, sawdust and Metal •Presenting two self-portraits in Robin Hunter Blake’s distinctive stroboscopic style, paired with a multimedia installation. The photographic works, printed on brushed aluminium, depict the artist from the front and back. The frontal image became the central inspiration for the show, its iconography recalling Saint Sebastian, pierced by arrows, yet enduring. This figure of resistance became a reminder to carry on through hardship. In parallel, the bullfight emerged as a metaphor: The bull, worn down over time, absorbs spear after spear until its final moment of recognition: the acknowledgement that it fought bravely, gladiatorial in its persistence. Like the saint, the bull embodies struggle, an image of endurance in the face of inevitable defeat. To weather the storm is itself a form of dignity and evidence of one’s humanity - echoed in the installation’s boxing bag, suspended and scarred, bearing the accumulation of countless punches and bullfighting spears, yet standing until the end. Together, the works articulate both the visible and the invisible: the prints gesture toward the internal, the immaterial realm beyond the eye, while the boxing bag, spears, sawdust and steel manifest the physical weight of experience. This dialogue between image and object becomes a meditation on reconciling with the past - acknowledging pain, even being grateful for it, so that it might serve as a reminder to remain steadfast in the face of adversity. In this, the work reaches toward something elemental: the animal instinct to survive, and the human condition that transforms endurance into meaning. by @robinhunterblake
