Just a little reminder from someone who’s been building a business for years:

You can love what you do and still have days when you question everything. 🤪

You can be proud of how far you’ve come and still feel like you’re figuring out the next chapter.

You can be the person everyone thinks has it together and still Google things you probably should know by now. 😂

Turns out, being a business owner doesn’t mean you eventually figure it all out.

You just get a little more comfortable figuring things out as you go.

And maybe that’s the whole thing. ❤️

True story - I once spent over four months building my own website on Wordpress. By the time it was “done,” I didn’t even like it or want to share it. 🫠

Now, with AI, you can describe what you want and get a beautiful page in minutes. It’s kind of incredible. A little scary, if I’m honest. But also freaking AMAZING.

BUT... a page can look good and still just sit there on its own.

Because what happens AFTER someone lands on it?
 Can they take the next step? Book a call, join your list, buy something, become a client?
 And once they do, does the rest of your business know about it?

ie: do your contacts live in one tool, your bookings in another, your emails somewhere else, and nothing talks to anything else?

Knowing who your people are, where they came from, what they’re interested in, and what they’ve bought, all in one place, is what turns a page into a business. Your whole customer journey, connected.

So yes, the building part is getting easier. And what comes after it is where I think things get REALLY interesting. ✨ by @robinnewberry

Robin Newberry is the founder of ShinePages, an all-in-one website and business platform built for women entrepreneurs. Had such an amazing time yesterday at Lauren Najar’s Growth & Connect Retreat in Chicago! @shinepages got to be a sponsor, which meant I got to show up and actually meet the women in the room - my favorite part!

Lauren is someone who clearly pours everything into what she creates for her community. The thoughtfulness she brings to her events is so evident - and the women she attracts are exactly the kind of driven entrepreneurs I get so inspired by. Learning from @laurennajar and @stephanieleaross was the cherry on top!

Started my morning with iced coffee, a great space and smart women building big things. 💗

Today’s meetup was part of The Gathering Series - put together by Carisa Deegan @my_creative_wisdom - a small, local, no-fluff space for female entrepreneurs to just…connect. Shoutout to my friend Stephanie and her gorgeous spot @the_treehouserocks for hosting us!

I always leave spaces like this feeling inspired, grounded, motivated and ever thankful for all these beautiful souls doing cool things.

I keep seeing this 2016 trend - or people asking if “2026 could be the new 2016”?

Have you seen it too? It got me digging back into my photo files and they brought such a smile to my face. :) which kind of feels odd - given the fact that 2016 was a year of a TON of chaos and uncertainty for our family.

We were living in Southern California at the time, transplants from the Midwest for about 6 years. We loved it and had really settled in there - we couldn’t see leaving, even though family were far away.

But then, the company my husband worked for moved out of state and what we thought would be a short break turned into a long stretch of not knowing, of living in limbo, of being worried about money, about not knowing whether we’d have to uproot and move and start over.

While I was building a business at the time, my husband was definitely the breadwinner in our family - and SoCal is expensive for a family of 5. I was stressed, anxious and cried often.

However, at the same time, it was somehow one of the most beautiful and grounded seasons of my life. I look back on this year and all I feel is this warm, appreciative calm.

During that crazy time I slowed down in a way I never had before. I actively practiced gratitude daily - I mean, I leaned in hard.

I paid attention to small things and just noticed the world around me in a different way. Walks in the sunshine, ocean air on my cheek, volunteering at my kids’ school, working in the garden.

We also got our dog, Bear, during that time, which felt a little crazy given everything going on, but also exactly right. We figured it was never a bad idea to add more love and joy to our household. 💗

It was a hard year in many ways. And it was a really meaningful one.

Looking back on it feels like a reminder. Not that I want to go back, but that there’s a way of being that I’d like to return to more intentionality in 2026 - especially given the state of the world right now.

If 2026 carries anything from 2016, I think for me it’s a reminder to try to carve out some peace from chaos, get back to noticing the good as much as possible and maybe to go on more walks with Bear in the sunshine. ☀️ taken in Orange County, California by @robinnewberry

So…we MAY have stretched Julia Cameron’s “12-week” plan into an 8-month journey (or more - who’s counting?) but we did it! 🙌🎉

This final poolside celebration with my Artist’s Way crew was the perfect way to cap off our creative journey together (complete with dips, of course) and I couldn’t be more grateful to each of them. I may not have done all the tasks, but I did fully lean into learning, growing and laughing with these wise, funny and soul-fueling women. And can’t wait to do it again with our next JC read together. 💗✨ @bebrightlisa @colleen_arturi @iamthejenarator @jenakelly24
