Grape Witches is throwing a TOMATO PARTY with some of our sweetest friends. ☺️🍅💋 Bask in summer’s favourite fruit at our Dundas location from 2-7 PM this long weekend Sunday. No tickets needed! Expect beautiful tomatoes from @broadforkproduce to stay or GO, a FOUR FOOT LONG baguette tomato sandwich from @robinsonbread, tomato specials from our resident star chef @mostly.beans and a sungold tomato, basil & olive oil sorbet care of @honeys.icecream made just for the occasion. New veggie sandwich this week 🧅

Inspired by the famous James Beard Onion Sandwich!

Instead of using brioche, our version is made with a buttery croissant cut in half; each side is topped with mayonnaise and a layer of seasoned red and white spring onions, thinly sliced. In keeping with tradition, the croissant is sealed with mayonnaise then dipped in coarsely chopped parsley, which acts as a clever palate cleanser.

This weekend the Simnel Tart will be available by the slice. Adapted from the medieval Simnel Cake, ours is made with a spiced almond frangipane, studded with candied oranges, raisins and currants, baked in a buckwheat and red fife sweet crust and topped with our honey marzipan by @robinsonbread

Scenes from our fantastic “She Rises: A Celebration of Women Bakers & Local Whole Grain Economies” last night. The Ontario grainshed has had its ups + downs, but the momentum + energy generated through chatting with Carole Ferrari @motherdough.to + Patti Robinson @robinsonbread was palpable + electric. We can grow this movement!
