UPDATE: The most beautiful machine I've ever seen ended up selling for less than a fiver. FUCK MY LIFE... 😮 Regretfully having to ebay this absolutely beautiful Vortexion W.V.A reel to reel tape machine (link in bio if you fancy having a punt or need a new project!). Dating from around 1957-1960, it’s been sat in someone’s attic for the best part of half a century, but good grief I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a beautifully preserved machine in all my life. Obviously it’s going to need a lot of work in the hands of an expert to get it working again, but really it’s nicer than a lot of specimens I’ve seen in museums. Surprisingly free of marks, scuffs etc. I’ll be sorry to see it go - but hopefully will go to a new home who will get it working again. Some noisy tape loop action at @resonancefm Friday night. Thanks to @jamesalechardy for the photos and apologies to the studio team for any speaker damage! Resonance FM also happens to be the subject of the latest episode of #BBCRadio4 strand ‘Archive On 4’ where Stewart Lee like back on almost three decades of ‘Radical Hospitality’! Haven’t had a chance to listen yet, but apparently my dulcet tones appear briefly… 🤩 by @robinthefog
