Five days. 230 kilometers. Endless mud, steep jungle climbs, river crossings, relentless humidity, and moments when every step hurt.

This week I crossed the finish line of the Jungle Ultra in the Peruvian Amazon—the fourth and final race of the Global Race Series.

Over the past few years, this journey has taken me through some of the most extreme environments on Earth:
❄️ The Arctic Circle in northern Sweden
⛰️ The high mountains of Kyrgyzstan
🏜️ The deserts of Namibia
🌿 And now, the Amazon jungle of Peru

Each race covered 230 kilometers over five days, testing far more than physical endurance. They demanded patience, resilience, humility, and the willingness to keep moving when everything inside you wants to stop.

This race was especially meaningful. I finished 4th among the women and 25th overall, but the accomplishment I’m most grateful for is simply making it to the finish. I spent the last two days of the race injured and in significant pain, and every stage became a lesson in taking one more step, then another, and another. 🏃‍♀️

With this finish, I have become only the third woman in the world to complete the entire Global Race Series.

That statistic is an incredible honor, but what I will remember most are the people I’ve met along the way, the volunteers and race staff who made these adventures possible, the local communities who welcomed us, and the fellow runners who reminded me that endurance is as much about heart as it is about legs. 💕

This experience reinforced something I hope never to forget: we are capable of far more than we believe. Progress isn’t always fast or graceful. Sometimes it’s muddy, painful, and uncertain. Sometimes courage is simply refusing to quit.

I’m deeply grateful for everyone who encouraged me, followed the journey, believed in me, and picked me up when I doubted myself. This finish line belongs to all of you, too. 🙏

150 mile ultramarathon over 5 days in the Amazon jungle in Peru! Follow along for the (hopeful) completion of my Global Race Series with Beyond The Ultimate! This will be my fourth & final ultramarathon to complete this feat!

I will be carrying all my gear on my back for the race, including all food I need for the entire course. The race is staged, so we all arrive each night to the same designated camp & sleep in hammocks with mosquito netting. I will be carrying my hammock obviously on me too, and have been practicing set up for the last couple of weeks.

We start at high altitude and make our way down the hills and through the jungle, crossing multiple rivers & racing through rainstorms. This will be a wild adventure for sure!

I’m up to date now on all my vaccines, including Typhoid, Yellow Fever, Chikungunya, Rabies, & Hepatitis A. I’m taking doxycycline for malaria prophylaxis, and I treated all my clothes with permethrin to help ward off mosquitoes!
