Just wrapped an intense 2 weeks of composing and producing music for a @doublefine game prototype - Bard Crawl! Bard Crawl is 1 of 4 game prototypes that were made in just 2 weeks as part of a company-wide game jam / fundraiser they call "Amnesia Fortnight."
I've met a number of Double Fine developers over the years (ironically on a bar crawl!) but this was my first time actually getting to work with them. Within just a few days, it stood out to me the level of enthusiasm, creativity, ability to solve problems and how they were able to build something very cool in a short amount of time.
I'm really proud to have been a part of this and excited for people to play the game and hear the music! To cop a term from one of the team members, I wrote some "bardcore" bangers. 😂
Kickstarter backers have 5 more days to play and vote for their favorite demo. The winning game gets made into a full game. 🤞I hope to share some music soon. But if you want to learn more or back the project, just search for Amnesia Fortnight. by @robkovacsmusic

Spent a day visiting San Francisco! Saw the Golden Gate Bridge (it was surprisingly bright), Alcatraz, a coin-operated machine museum, got to meet up with friends and even sat in with my friend @joyceleemusic ‘s band, @popignition ! Definitely a nice way to wind down after all the excitement playing at PokémonXP! :) taken in San Francisco, California by @robkovacsmusic

Just got back from an awesome week performing with Carlos Eiene (@insaneintherainmusic ) at PokémonXP / Worlds. We did three sets, one on each day of the event, of music from Pokémon Legends: Z-A — music that Carlos wrote and arranged for the game. We had an absolute all-star band, we played tight and the crowds were jamming out the whole time.

I feel lucky and grateful to be a part of events like this, certainly one of the biggest events I’ve played. I loved the spectacle of the whole event. It was extremely well produced and just a huge celebration of the Pokémon franchise and the people how love it.

And I couldn’t be happier for Carlos! Seeing him go from successful YouTuber and VGM cover artist to composing for a Pokémon game and then performing his music live in front of an enthusiastic audience is quite the career ark!

And now it’s on to the next thing!

Double announcement day! The VGM Pianists just released a piano tribute album to Stardew Valley. The whole album is really exceptional. I contributed the track “Spring (Wild Horseradish Jam) which I had fun arranging and recording. Give it a listen on Spotify or your favorite streaming service and let me know what you think! #stardewvalley #vgm #piano by @robkovacsmusic
