9th September 🤞There's a way to go, but here is my first mix in nearly 3 years.Last year, I was offered an amazing set at Ben Tagoe's Better Days at Peckham Audio. Sadly, it didn't work out well. I froze, I could barely see, and my brain was a jumble. I managed to get the opening track playing, but I couldn't do anything more. I had to leave, and I was so wobbly that my wife almost carried me as we left.@btagoe17 is my long-time friend. It was amazing just to see him again after many years and bear some witness to his incredible writing career - watch out for him. I was playing alongside two brilliant DJs, and just fucking lovely people, @dj_dode and @muzzkhan. Little do they know how supported they made me feel. Thankfully, my non-start was of no consequence. The party went off.But for me, it was a killer. I realised all over again what the stroke had taken from me. It really hurt. My two older brothers had come to see me, and I felt I let them down.I went home that evening thinking this was going to be a long, long road if I was ever to DJ in any professional way again.But, this new mix is step 1 back into it.Will I DJ in a dark club again? Hmm, not likely.Will I DJ again? I HOPE SO, I WILL TRY. In the meantime, huge thanks @colleencosmomurphy 😊 🙏🙏🙏 by @robot84music

Hi, my name is Scott.You might know me better as ROBOT84, but I'm Scottie, Scooter, Fergie, and Daddy to those who know me best.ROBOT84 has been around since about 2012. There were other aliases before, but the robot has well and truly stuck and definitely not going anywhere.DJ, first and foremost, since my late teens and record shop co-owner in my 20s. I first went into a studio in the late 90s. I have also always had a day job, too. I work for the NHS.These last few years have been epic for my sounds. Releasing Make me Feel Good on Re-Loved with Seamus Haji was a proud moment. And finally after months and months of waiting, seeing The Raff finally land in the shops will always be unforgettable and the reaction, immense. But why?What you might not know about me is that my life turned upside down on boxing day 2022. At 9am I had a pretty fucking massive stroke. There was a clot on my brain, my legs gave way, I lost all power and movement on my left side. My wife saved my life. I was in an ambulance within 20 mins. What I forgot to mention was this happened in Fuerteventura. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, I was taken by helicopter to Gran Canaria University Hospital for brain surgery where I stayed for 6 weeks. The outlook was pretty bleak, it was a very difficult time. But, I survived, and I'm here. I have learned to walk with a limp, but I'm disabled and I struggle a lot with my brain. I have problems that have impacted my ability to DJ, and that breaks my heart. But, I will learn again. In the meantime, I have my creative juices still in full flow, so the music will keep coming.Thank you for listening, playing, and buying. Music means everything to me, and it has been a lifeline like you wouldn't believe over the last year or so. Recovery takes a long time, and it can be really tough sometimes. I have great people around me and lots of support, but there are very low times. In May this year, I had a seizure. I was doing so well, and it really freaked me out and set me back, but I am coming back from that now to a place of confidence again. Scott xPs.
