Dass wir ein Album wie Enthrone Darkness Triumphant nie wieder erwarten brauchten, war wohl jedem bereits nach dem damaligen Nachfolger Spiritual Black Dimensions bewusst. Die Dunkelheit wich, Clean-Gesang wurde eingesetzt, und alles in allem wurde der Sound sauberer und moderner.

Nun, fast 30 Jahre später, halten wir das neue Werk in unseren Händen. Obwohl mich beim ersten Hören nichts wirklich mitgerissen hat, muss ich meine Meinung heute ändern. Dieses Meisterwerk braucht seine Zeit, entfaltet sich nach und nach und entwickelt sich zu einer unglaublichen Perle des symphonischen Black Metal.

Dimmu Borgir haben sich ihren Status hart erarbeitet und werden hoffentlich noch lange auf dem finsteren Thron sitzen bleiben.

That we would never get another album like Enthrone Darkness Triumphant was already clear to everyone after its follow-up, Spiritual Black Dimensions. The darkness began to fade, clean vocals were introduced, and overall the band's sound became cleaner and more modern.

Now, nearly 30 years later, we finally hold their new album in our hands. Although nothing truly grabbed me on my first listen, I have to change my opinion today. This masterpiece takes time to reveal itself, gradually unfolding into an extraordinary gem of symphonic black metal.

Dimmu Borgir have earned their legendary status through hard work, and hopefully they will remain seated upon the dark throne for many years to come by @robse_collection

Der Meister aller Klassen meldet sich zurück. Er trommelt bei den Apokalyptischen Reitern, machte sich als bester Varg-Drummer einen Namen, gibt Schlagzeugunterricht und bringt regelmäßig dunkle, intensive Black-Metal-Kunst unters Volk. Ein Prost auf dich, mein Lieber, für diese unglaublich starke Perle. Checkt unbedingt @rohgarr an und marschiert mit ihm in eine andere Welt.

He drums for Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, made a name for himself as the best Varg drummer, teaches drums, and regularly brings dark, intense black metal art to the people. Cheers to you, my friend, for this incredibly powerful gem. Definitely check out Rohgarr and march with him into another world.

Nach meinem Rauswurf bei Equi war für mich von vornherein klar: Ich muss weitermachen und lasse all die lieben Leute da draußen nicht einfach so allein. Ab dem Moment ging alles so rasend schnell, dass kaum Zeit zum Atmen blieb. Eine neue Band, frische Songs und unendlich viele Konzerte machten den Weg frei für neuen Spaß, und die Kraft alter Tage kam schnell zurück.
Inzwischen haben wir sämtliche Songs für Album Nummer zwei fertig, und der eingeschlagene Weg wird konsequent fortgesetzt. Da mich noch heute der Spirit meiner ehemaligen Band sehr fasziniert, haben wir beim Songwriting darauf geachtet, das alte Feuer vergangener Tage wieder zu entfachen. Wir haben euch ein episches Monster kreiert, das kein Auge trocken lassen wird und eine Nostalgie mit sich bringt, die euch ausrasten lassen wird.
Wir freuen uns jetzt schon auf eure Reaktionen – 2026 wird episch!

After I was kicked out of Equi, it was clear to me from the very beginning: I have to keep going, and I won’t just leave all the wonderful people out there on their own. From that moment on, everything moved so incredibly fast that there was barely time to breathe. A new band, fresh songs, and countless concerts paved the way for new excitement, and the strength of the old days quickly returned.
In the meantime, we’ve completed all the songs for album number two, and we’re consistently continuing down the path we’ve chosen. Since the spirit of my former band still fascinates me to this day, we made sure during the songwriting process to reignite the old fire of past times. We’ve created an epic monster for you that won’t leave a single eye dry and will bring a wave of nostalgia that will make you lose your minds.
We’re already looking forward to your reactions – 2026 will be epic!

Einst hatte ich die große Ehre, das Erbe meines Freundes Helge anzutreten und Frontmann einer Band zu sein, die etwas Einzigartiges erschaffen hat, viele Menschen glücklich gemacht hat und sich mit ihren ersten Alben ein ewiges Denkmal erbaut hat.
Viele Monde lang schien diese Einzigartigkeit verloren, und der urige Pagan-Sound verstummte langsam, aber stetig.
Sagenbringer bringen diese einstigen Emotionen zurück, kreieren das Alte neu und lassen erneut die Feuer der alten Tage lodern.
Was diese vier Jungs hier auf die Beine stellen, löst eine Nostalgie in mir aus, dass ich direkt wieder 20 Jahre alt bin und vor Freude in die Anbauwand springen könnte.
Ihr seid die wahren Erben des alten Equilibrium-Sounds, und ich, alter Pagan-Opa, verneige mich ehrfürchtig vor eurer Kunst.

Once, I had the great honor of taking on the legacy of my friend Helge and being the frontman of a band that created something truly unique, made many people happy, and built itself an eternal monument with its first albums.
For many moons, this uniqueness seemed lost, and the raw pagan sound slowly but steadily fell silent.

Sonntag – der Tag, an dem der Herrgott für alle Metalheads und Nachtschwärmer die Kopfschmerzen erfunden hat, um das sündige Volk zu bestrafen – ganz genau: euch. 😌
Ich möchte nur ganz kurz daran erinnern, dass morgen früh wieder der Wecker klingelt und das harte Arbeitsleben euch in seine Fänge nimmt.
Alles halb so wild, denn das nächste Wochenende ist ja schon in Sicht.

Diese zwei attraktiven jungen Herren haben drei Gemeinsamkeiten:
Sie frönen der harten Musik, tragen dasselbe Tattoo und sind meiner Meinung nach doch ziemlich niedlich für ihre finsteren Seelen .

Ich denke, dass ein Duett mit diesem edlen Gentleman ein ziemlicher Kracher werden würde.
Ich werde ihn mal lieb fragen – oder was meint ihr?

These two attractive young gentlemen have three things in common:
They indulge in heavy music, have the same tattoo, and in my opinion, are quite cute for their dark souls.

I think a duet with this noble gentleman would be quite a hit.

✅ Robses Tipp der Woche

Guckt euch das an, liebe Freunde!
Ich habe Post von der Pagan-Metal-Streitmacht @thorondir.official bekommen – was für eine großartige Überraschung!
Dieses nostalgische Gefühl, ihre Musik zu hören, liebe ich. Es erinnert mich sehr stark an meine Zeit bei EQUILIBRIUM und haut mich wirklich von den Socken.
Ihr neues Album strotzt nur so vor Hingabe zur Musik, Gänsehautmomenten, und ein Hit jagt den nächsten.
Die Pagan-Metal-Szene, die einst so sehr boomte, verlor irgendwann an Kraft und schien nur noch ein Geheimtipp zu sein.
Bands wie @sagenbringer_official ,Thorondir & Co. bringen den alten Spirit zurück und hauchen der Szene, in der ich mich auch heute noch sehr wohl fühle, neues Leben ein.
Als Großvater heidnischer Klänge und des Pagan Metals bin ich absolut stolz auf unser Erbe, das jetzt so liebevoll weitergeführt wird.
Diese Band braucht definitiv mehr Aufmerksamkeit und muss raus auf die Bühnen dieser Welt!

I’ve received mail from the Pagan Metal force Thorondir – what a fantastic surprise!
I absolutely love that nostalgic feeling when I listen to their music. It strongly reminds me of my time with Equilibrium and truly blows me away.
Their new album bursts with dedication to music, spine-tingling moments, and one hit after another.
The Pagan Metal scene, which once flourished so vibrantly, eventually lost its strength and seemed to become more of an insider’s tip.
Bands like Sagenbringer, Thorondir, and others are bringing back the old spirit and breathing new life into the scene, in which I still feel very much at home today.
As the grandfather of pagan sounds and Pagan Metal, I’m absolutely proud of our heritage, which is now being carried on so lovingly.
This band definitely deserves more attention and needs to hit the stages of the world!

Das Schicksal hält manchmal Pläne für uns bereit, die wir weder erahnen noch beeinflussen können. Doch es liegt in unserer Hand, was wir daraus machen und wie wir damit umgehen.
Wir waren einst ein Team, doch das Schicksal hat uns auseinandergerissen – es nahm uns die Familie und brachte uns gleichzeitig wieder zusammen.
Meine Tochter und ich – wir sind wieder ein Team.

Begrabt eure Kriegsbeile und geht einfach aufeinander zu. Das Leben ist verdammt kurz, und wir sollten uns auf gemeinsame, schöne Momente konzentrieren, anstatt trotzig jemandem wegen Kleinigkeiten aus dem Weg zu gehen.
Wenn das Schicksal zuschlägt, kann man die Zeit nicht mehr zurückdrehen.

Fate sometimes has plans for us that we can neither foresee nor control. But it is in our hands what we make of it and how we deal with it.
We were once a team, but fate tore us apart – it took our family from us and, at the same time, brought us back together.
My daughter and I – we are a team again.

Nach Panzerdivision Marduk war La Grande Danse Macabre zwar etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber dennoch ist es ein Meisterwerk – mit meinem Lieblings-Shouter Legion.
