In the 6/7 years I’ve been to boomtown 2026 was by far the best year yet. It hasent got anything todo with VIP camping! Although it was nice to have 2 showers a day…. It was from me experiencing it in a way I’ve never done before. My thoughts on festivals, up until this year was… get to the field and I’ll have ultimate freedom to go off the rails (which is fun)🤣 BUT…. This year that wasn’t the case. Setting my self a challenge on Christmas Day of doing a year sobriety before I go travelling, I did a warm up festival which I volunteered @ (forbidden forest) and completed sober!!! Which I was proud of myself, I did feel some crack in my shield post warm up festival pre boomtown festival after a few months I fully comitted in my mind, “I’d do boomtown sober” I made sure I was fuelled with fuck loads of calories, was took 3 naps averaging about 25mins a day lol and prepared myself for the moments I knew I could potentially cave, like in the morning after only sleeping for 2 hrs and wanting something to motivate me after dancing all day and night. After dancing for 64 hrs and sleeping for 6.5hrs im happy to say this was the best year, down to the fact i was more present, than ive ever been before. I made deeper connections with those who I spent time with, laughed, loved and went fucking crazy and I can remember every piece of happiness from that weekend big thanks to @liamcarmichael3 and @danielaa__xx for keeping me so grounded at camp and @lboothyy buddy in the circus and everyone else for being pure love and energy. by @robthirtle
