In Camellia I (2025), Rob Ventura shifts his floral language into a new register — one of drifting outlines and river-like currents. The camellias rise and fall within a robin’s-egg atmosphere, their contours pulled into motion as if carried by water or wind. This first work in the series reimagines Ventura’s painterly garden not as a fixed bouquet, but as a living flow of forms, at once lyrical, playful, and unanchored.

Kelly-McKenna Gallery (Spring Lake, NJ) presents Rob Ventura, a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores organic forms through painting, drawing, and ceramics. His practice reflects a fascination with the Golden Ratio, Fibonacci sequence, and the Mandelbrot set, uncovering mathematical patterns in nature. With a focus on the logarithmic spiral—described as “Spira Mirabilis” or “miraculous spiral”—Ventura highlights its presence in natural structures, from seashells to galaxies, bridging art, design, and mathematics.

Rob Ventura (B. 1989) is a mixed-media artist whose imagery combines organic, expressive forms with the Golden Ratio. Drawing visual references from flowers, fauna, microbes, cells, animal prints, fungi, butterflies, insects, honeycombs, and more, his abstract works encapsulate the beauty and underlying unity found in the natural world. Whether it be painting, drawing, sculpture, or photography, Rob creates compositions that play with a harmonious blend of color, pattern, and texture. Through his art, he invites us to contemplate the interconnectedness of all living things and the mysteries of the universe.

Ventura received his Masters of Fine Art from Boston University in 2013 where he was a Constantin Alajalov Scholarship Recipient. His work has since been exhibited at Kelly-McKenna Gallery, Platform Project Space, Good Naked Gallery, PROTO Gomez, MEN Gallery, The Hole, Freight and Volume, Underdonk, and Marquee Projects, among others. His work is in the permanent collection of the Wiregrass Museum of Art, the Arthur M. Blank Foundation, Sovereign Bank, and Drew University. He has received reviews from Two Coats of Paint, Cultbytes, Friend of the Artist, Exquisite Pandemic, and A Hundred and Eleven Magazine. Ventura lives in Jersey City, NJ, and is based in Hoboken, NJ.
