Hiya loves. I’m Robyn - a queer girlie living in London, who’s just turned her life upside down and has decided to share it with the internet!! Here goes nothin!!

A few years ago, I went through a sudden break up. And when the ‘we’ became just ‘me’, I realised I didn’t actually know myself at all. I didn’t know who I was or what I wanted, what I was passionate about, why people loved me, where I wanted to go.

So the last two years have been a big ol’ journey of self discovery. Figuring out who I am at my core, what matters to me, what makes me special, and what I want to do with my life.

And then earlier this year, after a decade in corporate jobs that were sucking my soul, I finally decided to take the leap and leave corporate behind. So I’ve been muddling through freelance life for the last few months, slowly but surely starting to building the foundations of a life I can be proud of.

I’m building my business as a wedding celebrant, I’m finally learning to my play guitar, I’ve started writing again (Substack link in my bio!), I’m working at my local queer pub to help pay the bills, and throwing myself at every opportunity that comes my way. It’s messy and imperfect, and I’m equal parts scared and excited, but wow I’ve never felt more alive.

So this is the place where I’ll be sharing the things I’ve learned, the things I’m still learning, and all of the gorgeous things pouring out of me now that my creative brain has been set free.

Come along for the ride. Some of it will be good!! Some will be bad!! But you’ll have to stay to find out which is which!! Love you bye 💋

Staying accountable to my daily guitar practice by posting lil snippets here for the world to see 🙂‍↕️

Being a beginner at something is hard and frustrating but also REWARDING AF. Look at me playing multiple chords in a row…?!

It was my birthday last week, and on my birthday I always feel quite reflective.

I always feel a pull to pause and really take stock - where I am now, where I’m going, what I’m proud of, what I love, and what I might want to change in my life.

As part of that, I always think about the amazing people I have in my life and how grateful I am for everything they give me.

And the older I get, the more passionately I feel about telling people how bloody great they are and what makes them special. Being a cheerleader and a hype woman is my favourite past time!!

This year I turned 33, which is an angel number, and I don’t know how woo woo you are my friend, but I’ve been feeling very in touch with the universe this year, and I wanted to share some of that zingy energy with some of my favourite people.

SoI used my birthday as an opportunity to write some love letters to my friends - words of affirmation on steroids 💕

I bought these gorgeous custom postcards to match my friend’s star signs, and because it’s my 33rd birthday, I’m wrote 3 reasons I love that person on each one.

And I stuck some gold stars on there for good measure, because why bloody not.

It was such a gorgeous way to spend an evening, so if you haven’t told your friends why you love them in a while, grab a pen and get going 😘

‘Forgive yourself for not knowing earlier what only time could teach you’

So you’re in your 30s and still feel a bit… lost?

Welcome my friend, we’re all right here with you.

We’re sold this myth when we’re younger that we’ll go to school, do our degrees and then magically know what job we want for the rest of our lives.

As if we’ll have the depth of knowledge and self awareness to understand who we are, what matters to us and what we can offer the world at the ripe old age of 21.

But the reality is - of course we don’t. We have no fucking idea. So we spend years pretending that we know what we’re doing, but underneath it all we feel like frauds.

It’s why so many of us constantly feel like we’re falling behind. Like we haven’t achieved the things we’re supposed to by now, or that we haven’t hit the milestones in time. All because we haven’t found our soulmate or our ‘purpose’ by the time we’re 25.

But the older I get, the more I appreciate that the things worth knowing in life take TIME.

You can’t know who you are, what makes you special or what sets your heart on fire until you try loads of things that don’t. You need a bank of experiences to reflect on and learn from. The trial and error, the wins and losses, the things that made you feel alive and the things that drained your energy.

And as much as we might want to, there’s no way of fast forwarding to build that bank. You can’t collect experiences overnight or generate them with AI. You’ve just got to live them. And that, my friend, takes time. You’ll get there eventually if you keep trying new things, seeking out new experiences, and learning something from them.

So if you haven’t figured out what you want to do yet, how you want to make money, or the mark you want to leave on the world - that’s ok, you just need some more data to give you the answers. And the only way to get those answers?

Go out there and do some living. You won’t find the answers in a doom scroll.

Dating is ROUGH. And if you have a string of bad luck, it can feel like the world is against you.

And then you date someone, and yeah, they don’t make you feel super safe, and yeah, it doesn’t feel fizzy and exciting, but something is better than nothing at all, right?

Wrong.

The type of love you want is the type of love I hear about every day. Enduring love. Consistent love. Magical love. Hilarious love. No second guessing love. I choose you in every lifetime love.

And I know that waiting for it is hard. But it exists, I promise. I have the receipts.

So stay strong my loves, and keep that bar high.

I hope you find a love that sets your heart on fire. And when you do, you know where to find me 😘
