Rockland Center for the Arts is proud to announce its annual Fall Family Art Festival! Surrounded by the vibrant colors of fall on our beautiful five acres of property, this Fall Festival celebrates the season through various artistic activities.

This event will include many of RoCA’s teaching artists, both from our Summer Arts Camp and our School of the Arts throughout the year.

Explore The Catherine Konner Sculpture Park while participating in creative projects scattered around the grounds. Join local artist Poramit Thantapalit for an incredible Cyanotype Printing Workshop, or stop by the Fall Centerpiece Tent to make your own seasonal arrangement using natural materials.

Before taking a tour of the sculpture park and creating a sketch of your favorite artwork, take a break and warm up with some hot cider and live music.

This exhibition of New York artists delves into how physical clay transforms from a raw substance into an expressive, malleable medium.

Moving far beyond functional pottery, the ceramic sculptors on view utilize the inherent qualities of earth, the formal elements of sculpture, alternative methods of glazing, and chemical reactions occurring in kilns to explore individualized processes and contemporary themes.

Exhibiting Artists:
Joel Brown
Leigh Burton
Ada Pilar Cruz
Lisa Karrer
Leigh Taylor Mickelson
Mari Ogihara
Jackie Shatz
Maria Spiess
Louis Spitz
Kurt Steger

"Through the years, one consistency in a lot of my art has been physical presence. As something of an obsessive collector, I am drawn to found material and objects, intrigued by form, history, and elemental characteristics.

I think of these stacked accumulations sort of like batteries, charged by use by many hands, and marked with signs of experience over the course of time. Work and play, similarity and difference, chaos and order, and implied potential functionality are some of the things on my mind."

That's Peter Artin's statement about his solo exhibit at RoCA up until November 21st. The Artist's Reception is on Saturday, October 17 from 1-4pm. We hope you will join us for this incredibly dynamic exhibit.

This Saturday, September 26 from 6:30-9:30pm, we will be honoring key figures in RoCA's artistic community– Marlene Krumm-Sanders.

Marlene Krumm-Sanders has been a ceramics instructor at RoCA for quite some time now, while also being an incredible ceramic artist for over 20 years. With a long history as a celebrated self-taught artist, Marlene also owns her own studio in Piermont NY. Her signature style rings true throughout each piece she creates, filled with texture, space, and light converging into her own language of abstract forms.

We are very excited to celebrate and honor Marlene Krumm-Sanders this Saturday at the Autumn Art Party! For more information, head to the link in our bio! by @roca_arts

Experience the gripping two-act drama, The Burning of New York, inspired by the true events of The Great Conspiracy of 1741.

In the spring of that year, a series of enigmatic fires ravaged lower Manhattan, sending the City into a state of panic. Following a swift trial in Westchester County, dozens were convicted of an alleged slave uprising, culminating in the tragic lynching of 30 individuals on Wall Street.

Join Shades Repertory Theater for a powerful play reading, written and directed by Samuel Harps, in partnership with The Gordon Center for Black Culture and Arts.
