I’m proud to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Ithaca College. I’m extremely grateful to my coaches, teammates, and training partners for pushing me every day, and most importantly to my family for their constant support and belief in me. None of this would be possible without them.

This isn’t exactly how I envisioned ending my high school wrestling career. I had much higher hopes for myself, but sometimes plans don’t go the way you want them to. With that being said, I’m incredibly grateful I was even able to compete this year. At this time last year, I was told I would never play sports again, I wasn’t even able to walk. So just stepping back on the mat was more than enough for me. Even though I didn’t reach my goal of becoming a State Champion, this season taught me far more than how to win big matches or place at big tournaments. It taught me mental toughness. It showed me how to fight through obstacles and challenges. Most importantly, it made me a better person because of the amazing coaches and teammates around me. Coach Jimmy and Coach Haas I truly don’t know what I would’ve done without you two. You guys constantly pushed me to get better and spent countless hours watching film, working out with me, and finding the right partners to help me grow. You completely changed my mindset not just as a wrestler, but as a person. I also want to thank my parents for getting me into this sport — I’m beyond grateful. My dad loved wrestling more than anything and never missed a match. Even though he didn’t get to watch me compete this year, I know he’s up there watching. Mom, thank you for coming to every match and supporting me through everything. Even if I couldn’t spot you in the stands before a match, I always knew you were there when I heard you yelling like a crazy woman. Coach Pyle, Coach Kavy, Coach Thomas, and Nick Duran #FunkMaster thank you for everything you guys did for me.
