A gathering of ancient sounds, ancestral traditions and voices seeking transcendence.

Tirikantam brings together three musicians whose practices move across cultures, histories and musical traditions, creating an immersive journey through sound, drone, chant and melody.

Formed by three friends who met in London, the project brings together Christina Deva’s layered vocals and esoteric drone folk, Rocha of Cynthia’s explorations of ancient Celtic, Iberian, Armenian and Persian traditions through the Portuguese guitar and kamancheh, and Lauren Laroth’s chants, emotional melodies and connection to the forgotten voices of ancient mysticism.

Rooted in folk and ceremonial music, Tirikantam invites us into a shared sonic experience where music becomes a space for emotional release, connection and collective presence.

A journey through sound, where ancient traditions meet in the present.

In a lost forest I went to somewhere in Belgium i made friends with an amazing soul at the precise moment the thought of a kamancheh had just entered my mind (this is a very hard instrument to get in Europe) and just like that...a random encounter made magic and gave my celtic portuguese guitar a partner....

Acoustic Concert #4
Hosted at @popup.emaus.arroios

Wednesday 16th of September we will be having three fully acoustic performances with varying styles.

Rocha of Cynthia @rochaofcynthia
A music project from Rocha, a musician fully engaged in the spirit of the ancient Iberian Celts and their melodic relation with ancient Iberia, Armenia and Persia. A rediscovery and channeling of forgotten sounds coming to us through a unique style of playing the soulful and arresting portuguese guitar.

Nofar Nahari Halevi @nofarsound
A singer-songwriter and facilitator of authentic expression. Through music, voice, and presence, she creates spaces that invite people to meet themselves more honestly - to soften, feel, express, and reconnect with what is alive within.

Salvatore Cortone @salharmonica
A full-time harmonica player, multi-instrumentalist, and educator with a lifelong passion for music. Hailing from Calabria, Italy, playing a variety of genre as well as a fusion of traditional and modern music from his region.

Doors at 19h30, music starts from 20h and finishes at 22h.

Suggested donation for artists:
5€ (includes 1 superbock) or pay what you can. taken in Pop-Up Emaus Arroios by @rochaofcynthia

Looking forward to playing live music again on the 19th Aug to the shimmering shimmying of @helene_de_joie
Here she dances to my violin and voice with the drum of @rochaofcynthia and the ecstatic vocals of @christina_deva, who will again be joining us in collaboration with my ambient/heavy/experimental/imp-provisational Belgian band Chimeric's second ever visit to London.

Plus self-sculpting as glimpsed at the end of this video, and the sur.real.ity of @export.import.real

At @strongroom.venue Weds 19th. A once-off convergence of high wyrdness.

Really pleased with @lebronwynston video of me playing "Kamanom", one of the 7 new original persian celtic guitar songs I have been working on and soon to be recorded within a circle of very magical musicians.

Shot at the "Castros Celtas", a 8000 year old celtic site in the north of Portugal.
