Another successful #Halite #dig 🧂 🔥💗 Slightly cooler this year only a high of 94... every year is different. The main #pool we usually dig at got flooded so we went to a different spot where they use to do the public digs. This year was all about the reds. Probably the best color I've seen / #selfcollected but a little bit smaller #crystals . I'll take it! #Wholesale and #retail available soon. I also still have specimens from last year on my website.

Halite 2026
Removing the paper and bringing the Halite down to single layers to finish drying and curing. It will take about 3 weeks for the salt crystals to be ready to be boxed and flated up. Packing it with paper for the drive home helps protect these natural salt crystal in transport.

Ill have a massive display and selection of Halites this year at the tucson gem show @ 22nd st show tent . Booth C49
Keep watch for new specimens on the website rockgemcrystal.com
Wholesale flats will be avaliable for resellers. Dm me for more info and to inquire about my wholesale rock group.

Saint marie gem show was a hit, more rock videos to come with all the goodies I brought back. I didnt take that much photo video content , having too much fun.

We had a European summer "heatwave" idk 95+ is warm but not hot hot , ive spent summers east of Redding California, 110 - 115 summer temperatures no ac. That's hot. It was a grand time , cant wait for next year.

The Dolomites in Italy, were fantastic! Around 280 million years old, but the alps only started to form around 30 million years ago when the African continent pushed up against the Eurasian continent and the sea receded. Around 5 million years ago during the ice age the mountains where coverd in glaciers up to a mile deep which helped carved out the valleys we see today. The mountains are actually fossilised tropical coral reefs preserved by volcanic ash. ⛰️ 🌋

I stayed in Santa Cristina, Valgardena at Garnì Puez. I highly reccomend this affordable friendly family run bnb right in the heart of the hiking and skiing area. Dm me for the link or questions.

1, Top of Seceda
2, view from my room in Santa Christina
3,4,5, 6, Seceda hike
7, pizza spot in town 17 euro (20 usd) with beer
8, Santa Christina from the Mount De Seura chair lift
9, 10, 15 mile hike (33 km) around Sassolungo ( pictured ) and Sassopiatto.
11, massive cornicello (a traditional Italian good luck horn, or cornetto). 🔥
12, more hiking
13, Ferrari meet up back side of the mountain hike 🚘
14, dolomite crystals
15, farm and local food from Plattkofelalm - Malga Sasso Piatto
16, groundhog

17, Arguably the best view of my life. Standing on the high, wildflower-covered eastern slopes of Sassolungo, you gaze out first at the famous jagged peak of Santner Spitze. As the view sweeps across the massive meadow of the Alpe di Siusi (Europe's largest high-alpine plateau) and down toward the towns of the Val Gardena valley where I stayed, you'll see the razor-sharp cliff edge of Seceda cutting the skyline in half, finally ending on the dramatic Odle (Geisler) mountain group.

18, mountain goat 🐐

19,20, The "Coffin Lift" (officially the Telecabina Sassolungo) is from 1972 and wisks you up Forcella Sassolungo at an altitude of 8809 ft or 2685 meters. by @rockandcrystals
