Not sure whether the NMFS/ NOOA have the Atlantic Snapper Population figured out yet. After attending several open forum meetings to discuss the concern/issue of over fishing, They have decided to allow an experimental period of just 14 days with a catch limit of 1 per person per day.
On our first trip yesterday, we limited out with our 4 snapper in about an hour. One of which was my PB. We caught several more and released them. We also caught a limit of monster trigger fish and silver snapper.
Hope everyone that has or will snapper fish in the trial period will report their catch so the NMFS can see that the Snapper population is very healthy and and not overfished. This should give them enough information to adjust the season and catch limits.

What an Honor it was to win the No Sancocho tournament two years ago in Guatemala and be presented the award by the late Legendary Captain David Salazar owner of the World Class Fishing Lodge Casa Vieja Lodge. We miss his presence each time we are at the Lodge and will certainly miss him as we return next month to try to regain the title again. His wife Kristen, her family and the wonderful staff have done an amazing job of carrying David’s legacy forward. Her vision has truly been amazing to watch as #casaviejalodge continues to be one of the absolute best #bucketlistadventures #fishinglodge destinations in the world. Can’t wait to see everyone soon. by @rockdocfishingteam

Thanks to all the great people that work behind the scenes and the Awesome Sponsors that put on the Hooked On Miracles. Had a great turnout for the event. Congrats to MO BETTER for the W and to all the teams that placed. We caught fish all day but just not the right size.
But man did we have a great time. It’s not every day you get to witness a US Navy Military Operation around you all day long. We were able to listen to communications between these 3 warships and an opposing vessel and it got heated !! by @rockdocfishingteam

It is not every day you get to see the things we saw today. The reason we got to witness this is because people of America love our country, our freedom and our President. Like it or not This is America the home of the Free and the Brave! God Bless the USA!!!

We are so blessed to live in a free country where prayer and hard work come together to provide all of us with God’s Blessings of the bounty of the sea! Even though the rain and the cool air had a little impact on the @McClellanvilleShrimpfestival #mcclellanvilleshrimpfestival the Captains and their boats still came out to Celebrate a tradition in the Blessing of the Fleet. These hard working Captains are such an integral part of the economy in our little Fishing Village and deserve all the support they can get. Thanks to everyone who works behind the scene to make this annual event a festival to remember. by @rockdocfishingteam

Casa Vieja LodgeWhat an awesome Bucket List Trip! This is and will continue to be on my calendar every year. casaviejalodge #casaviejalodge has always been one of the best Fishing Lodges in the world but with all the renovations and additions that have been made, certainly put it in a league of its own. To all the staff, Captains and crew, thank you for another memorable trip.

LET’S GO TEAM YAMAHA!!! Even though I spend all my time fishing offshore tournaments, This is one of the absolute best organized fishing tournaments I have ever attended. Bassmaster and all the sponsors that support these anglers and this sport put on an incredible show. And it takes a Village of support staff from all the sponsors that are involved to make it run smoothly.
The individuals that you have seen on the ROCKDOC over the past few days don’t get enough admiration ,thanks and recognition for all the hours they put into these events. So here is my OFFICIAL THANK YOU to all our TEAM. We currently have 8 of our Yamaha Anglers in the top 25 spots all vying for the coveted title. Good luck to you all !!!! And see you at weigh in starting about an hour from now
