A beautiful Canvas Print came from this incredible photo capture by our client photographer, David Schweitzer, of an Arab Sailing Dhow Regata off the coast of Kenya near Lamu, just south of Somalia. Spectacular colors, sunlight and geometric sails bring this shot to life.

I’ve been thinking about something lately…

I think we’ve forgotten how to wait.

We live in a world where almost everything is designed to remove the wait. Our photographs are instant. Our deliveries arrive tomorrow. Our answers are always a screen away.

And yet two things I still love—film photography and mechanical watches—ask something quite different of us.

Patience.

You make the photograph without knowing if you’ve got it.

You adjust the watch and wait to see how it runs.

Neither is particularly efficient.

And perhaps that’s part of their appeal.

Maybe anticipation isn’t an inconvenience we need to eliminate.

Maybe it’s part of what makes something matter.

One of the last independent photo labs in Vancouver, Rocket Repro Graphics has become a Gastown institution, with over 30 years of experience.

The studio's roots trace back to actors' headshots, with the likes of Seth Rogen and Will Ferrell now gracing their walls.⁠

These are a few of a beautiful series of images we printed for client/photographer @CarrieHillCreative for her CAPTURE IT exhibition gallery show, taking place at Gallery George on West Hastings St.
Opening is from 6-9pm on April 9th. The exhibit, created by Theresa Mura, is open from April 1st-26th and will be well worth checking out!
