BEST THING is going to Italy. 🇮🇹

Thrilled to announce that our World Premiere will be @notfilmfest in Italy.

We made this movie independently, with an incredible group of people who believed in it from the beginning. Getting to finally put it in front of an audience — halfway across the world, no less — feels pretty damn special.

See you in Italy.

Some frames from last year’s @cityharvestnyc Gala Video. Always great working on a project that promotes a great cause. Shot on Canon C500 mark ii with @angenieuxlenses EZ’s. Mostly shot with natural light or just a small panel light.
Thanks to @darabratt and @saraeolin for having me be a part of it.

Recap from last week…We held the first ever @shittyrigs workshop @ecal_ch in Switzerland. It was amazing seeing all the different solutions our students came up with to create a unique shot. They really pushed themselves to find solutions to problems with extreme limitations on resources and time. Never would I ever have thought Shittyrigs would go this far. Very cool to see the idea grow and take on a new form.
Thanks to @whatsbertdoing @jonagua @titouan.longatte @anouklaure @ecal_ch @ecal_design @ecal_cinema and all the students who participated in the workshop.
Hopefully we can make this into something we can share more often. 🤞 by @rockpaperwolf

Some BTS and Final Frames from Ashes Under the Sand which just screened at the San Diego International Film Festival last weekend. Shooting on @arri Alexa 35 with @atlaslensco Orion anamorphics. We leaned heavily on manipulating the natural light and adding lots of negative fill to each setup. Even for the interior we kept our lighting package minimal to @asteraofficial NYX bulbs and Titan tubes. We added the deep shadow texture in camera which seems to add density to the deep black portions of the frame. Still on the fence about this concept and what additional benefit it provides when so much can be manipulated in post production.

Still grab from the Homegoods series I shot last year in Bali. Sometimes everything just aligns perfectly even if talent doesn’t show up on time.
