POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

For those who don’t know me, I’m Christie May, owner and principal designer of Rockwell Interiors. I was born and raised here in North County San Diego- (Encinitas to be exact). Ever since I was a young girl, I have loved being creative and making art of different mediums. I now have over 20 years of professional experience working as Designer, and this year will mark Rockwell’s 12th year in business!! Rockwell was created shortly after the birth of my only child, Hudson Rockwell May, and is also where the company name comes from. My boy was the main driving force behind me taking the leap to start my own firm. He is one of my biggest inspirations to always do my best work and I hope he learns from me to follow his passions and dreams, just as I have. I’m not going to lie- the road has not always been easy- in fact, as any business owner knows (especially small businesses) there’s nothing easy about it. But with a lot of passion and love for what you do, working hard for something is always rewarding. Thanks to all of you who are part of our IG fam🫶🏼, we appreciate you following along and supporting us. We hope to inspire by sharing our work and a glimpse into the ever diverse world of Interior Design✨

Take a scroll- and let us know what your favorite details are in these kitchen designs. Does one appeal to you more than another? Which one?

A | light, warm & beautiful
B | Black, bold & sexy
C | Walnut, contrast & handsome
D | Fresh, clean & organic

These days- the kitchen is more than just a place to cook. It’s no longer a basic enclosed room of cabinetry and appliances. Kitchens are made larger than ever before and can be designed to look as beautiful as any other area in the home- as they are often an extension of an open living space. We love a smart design that allows for all the function when you need it but can keep it concealed when you don’t. Clean, seamless and integrated are all key components we use in our kitchens designs. Oh- and we always strive to make them beautiful. 😮‍💨

If you’re looking to transform your bland kitchen into a something special- shoot us a DM or reach out, we’re here for ya🤍.

Welcome to Castle Hills. A rebirth of a tired outed MCM home that sits atop the street with spanning western views of San Diego, North Pacific Beach and La Jolla.

This beautiful custom home was created for repeat clients of ours whom we continually enjoy working with. With that said, we are in the midst of designing their next home which means this very cool place will soon be hitting the market! The home was designed with nods back to its original 1950’s birth date, but brought current with modern day clean lines, amenities and lux detailing. This is an amazing opportunity for a buyer who’s looking for a newly custom designed home with high ceilings, tons of indoor/outdoor, high-end appliances, custom millwork, beautiful natural stones and warm finishes- it’s just an all-around great home!!

In addition- there’s a pool out back and a central courtyard with access to the rooftop deck featuring 360 degree views of San Diego (with fireplace) 🔥🔥

The experience begins before you step inside… Designed to create a beautiful arrival, this entry also offers the tranquility of falling water to enjoy from within—making it part of everyday life at home🕊️

Imagine- this being what you see from one side of your home, and the views from our previous post on the other.

We designed this water feature out of limestone slabs- setting back the bronze scuppers to create depth and interest. The texture was hand chiseled and if you look closely you will see small fossils and shells within the stone.

Adding a water element to your space will always create beauty and provide a sense of calmness & peace🤍 taken in Del Mar, California by @rockwell_interiors

Just wrapped up a week documenting the beauty of this modern custom home. Spending several full days here was such a treat—a chance to experience how the home lives. There’s a calm that carries throughout—it’s luxury, but not stuffy. I always feel at peace here, with something beautiful to take in at every turn.

On this project, our contributions extended beyond the interiors. We collaborated on architectural modifications, selected finishes and determined placement, and designed the outdoor kitchen & pergola. We also selected the pool finishes, glass railings, and designed a large custom water feature at the front entry.

I love the way everything came together- the light neutral tones, natural materials and the openness to the outdoors- it was a pleasure to work on this project with a very talented team and some wonderful clients.
And to end each day watching the sun set over the ocean from your own home? Truly a dream. ✨ taken in Del Mar, California by @rockwell_interiors

With a little reimagining, we took our clients average powder bathroom into something extra special. Elegant luxury with full slab onyx accent wall- stunning without illumination - completely ✨WOW✨ when lit. We added mirror to the side walls to take it next level. At the touch of a switch, you could have it either way- what would be your preferred choice?

Swipe thru to see the space pre remodel. Can’t wait to see this transformation⚡️

Explore the beauty of warm modern design. Elegant yet livable. Sophisticated but not stuffy. Warm natural finishes put together with intention and great detail. This home was designed to age gracefully without falling subject to ever changing trends of what is only popular for a short period of time. Beautifully timeless and crafted to last. taken in Del Mar, California by @rockwell_interiors

Sitting pretty within the entrance of the primary closet, this beautiful vanity was designed for our client to powder her nose and store her special things😌 This space sits in between the dual bathroom vanities as seen in our previous posts, welcoming you in as you enter the closet.
